For those looking for an old fashioned diner, you can't go wrong with Joe's in an area full of the trendy (not to mention high priced), eats. Joe's is a refreshing change. Adults can venture into the bar, but they have the cafe for anyone with kids or if you want to avoid the smoke. Happy hour is from 7-10am. With great servers & classic American diner food, the only thing is if you go in for breakfast, bring an appetite. They don't skimp on the portions. Also they have a rare commodity in NW Portland, there are over 20 off street parking spots. As for being easy to get to , they are just off the freeway, not to mention two blocks from the streetcar. If you are looking for a diner or bar out of your childhood, there is no better than Joe's

Pros: Good food, decent prices, excelent service

Cons: weekend mornings can be busy.

I moved across the street from Joe's a couple weeks ago, and it's pretty much become my regular hangout. Stiff, cheap drinks, great friendly barstaff, several pool tables if you're into that, a couple big-screen TVs and a diverse, lowkey blue-collar crowd. My type of people.

Pros: Inexpensive, Unassuming

Cons: Fairly smoky if you're a non-smoker

This is the best place if your in the mood for a greasy breakfast. When I ordered my hashbrowns, the waitress asked if I wanted gravy on it. Do you even have to ask?

Pros: Gravy, Cheap, Breakfast all day
