Missing Foie; Better Alternatives
3 Star Rating: Average

The setting at Lucy's Table is one built to make a good evening great. The lighting is intimate and tables are comfortably separated. Good for a date (who’s not looking for the most exciting food). The service is prompt and friendly; even the bread is delicious. I would recommend Lucy’s Table to those Pearl District-ers who find themselves in the neighborhood and don’t mind dropping some dough on dinner. I was most satisfied with the small plates and would recommend that menu over the large plates—that selection seemed to be missing the rustic comfort which captions the name “Lucy’s Table.” Further, my pheasant (which generally speaking, I cannot complain about) was missing the promised bit of Foie Gras that was supposed to accompany the petit scoop of jasmine rice. This conclusion—that the small plates are a better selection than the large plates—leaves me with a few lagging questions in mind: Why not go to lolo—a joint who’s specialty is tapas plates? And if we’re still in the mood for large plates with a twist, why not make my way to Le Pigeon? Where Gabriel Rucker’s masterful knife will undoubtedly serve up a unique and memorable meal. Simply put, the alternatives to Lucy’s Table should strongly be considered before committing.

Pros: Ambiance, service

Cons: food

We are happy you enjoyed our atmosphere, service and small plates. As we have recently changed our menu, it is nice to here that the small plate selection was to your liking. As for the large plates, we have since made a few changes. The pheasant and foie gras flavored jasmine rice remains. We are sorry it was not to your liking. We regret not having the opportunity to remedy the situation while you were at the restaurant. Mike and Kaye Conklin, Owners
