Nice Average Place

by sugarbee01 at Citysearch

A friend came to town and I wanted to try a new place that was nice but not "snooty." I was a bit worried that my date and I would be snubbed because of our ages (24 & 25), as most of the folks dining were in their late 30's and up. However, I was pleasantly suprised. Our waitress was extremely nice (and cute to boot). She made menu suggestions and explained how certain wines may taste. Everything was pretty good, but the tab was too spendy. We could have paid a visit to an even upper-scale place for the amount we paid. I'm not quite sure if I'll go back.

  • Pros: good one course, ambiance, wait staff
  • Cons: , too spendy

Great experience

by rhawkinsb at Citysearch

One of the best in Portland! I have eaten here many times over the past three years and each time I like it more. I'm always impressed with how knowledgeable all the servers are about both the food and wine. And the wine list is priced very reasonably. I can't get enough of their goat cheese ravioli. A wonderful place for a romantic dinner or a casual evening out with friends. I definitely recommend checking out their happy hour too!

I'll never listen to my daughter's friend, again. This was the most expensive experience, I have ever had, in 53 years of dining out. The food was over-seasoned, and where there were sauces, the seasonings were not allowed to develop, and mellow out. First time, I ever had gristle in a rib-eye steak, at $22, for 6oz, and I have eaten many hundreds. So, 7 appetizers, 3 dinners, 1 salad, 1 glass wine, and 2 cups coffee, with an automatically added 18% gratuity, came to $190. First, I like to determine my tip, because that's my way of rating , and rewarding the food & service. I don't have enough room here, to state all my feelings, about this place. The high prices, put a bad taste, in my mouth, and it's quality didn't help. Should be rated $$$$.

  • Pros: Good atmosphere
  • Cons: No Parking. long walk, Where's the waiter?, Not what I'd tip.

One of the best

by ebless at Citysearch

Been going to Lucy's table since I came to Portland a few years ago. This restaurant would measure up to many I have been to in chicago, my home town. Food almost always good (had one bad entree in all my meals) service is professional and well timed and it is one of the few places I could have a 3 hour meal and feel that the time was well spent. Great wine list that is reasonably priced. Been to other Portland food "Institutions" and I keep coming back to Lucys....

  • Pros: Decor, Wine, Overall Service
  • Cons: Service can slow down, Not for a quick meal

Best restaurant in town

by mechols at Citysearch

If food is why you go out to eat, then this place is it. It's not the funkiest place, and it's not very good for a large group. However if you want to enjoy consistently good food, then Lucy's will not disapoint.

Great atmosphere, good service, excellent food. You have not lived until you have had the Goat Cheese Ravioli. The menu changes often enough to keep me going back at least once a week.

  • Pros: Happy servers, Great Atmosphere
  • Cons: NW has no parking

Not flashy, but perfect.

by ShannonBr at Citysearch

We have never failed to have a terrific time at Lucy's Table...the food is wonderfully prepared, the wine list is great and not overpriced like so many places in town. It is not flashy, just a perfect environment in which to relax and enjoy - the servers take care of us in a professional/warm/friendly manner. We recently enjoyed the braised rabbit, a beautifully prepared dish of seared scallops, and the best chopped salad. They have a new bar and it is fun to sit there for dinner too!

  • Pros: Lively, Indulgent, Friendly
