Not impressed

A close friend and myself tried this restaurant recently. It was disappointing. The ambiance of the restaurant appears pretentious and uptight. We made reservations but really didn't need to. There were only a handful of tables being used. The new trainee waitress was polite, professional, and quick to respond to our requests. The only food that is worth mentioning is the goat cheese ravioli which was really well made, very delcious. The rest of the food we ordered was trying too hard and missing the mark (not much flavor). It appears the owners are attempting to have this upscale, classy restaurant but forgot that people actually want to feel comfortable and satisfied when eating anywhere. Will not be returning any time soon.
- Pros: Goat cheese ravioli, valet parking, good wine selection
- Cons: Uptight crowd, mediocre food for expensive prices
sterile atmosphere but really good food

We tried this place out several times looking for a new hangout after work. We spend upward of $100 per evening on drinks and dinner and were "interviewing" for a new place.
The owner is clearly uptight about our patronage, as we do not wear pleated dockers and chambray shirts and do not have white hair.
Tonight, we heard him speaking to one of his patrons about us! Taking up one end of the bar.
I guess if you are not old and conservative you should go elsewhere, even if you have tons of cash to spend after work! I have never been treated with such disregard and disdain when I was spending money in my life. It was embarrassing. I should point out we are upper middle class people, not meth fiends, but we wear non-dockers.
Message: The atmosphere is morgue-ish, so are the
"regulars", so if you aren't, don't put yourself through the judgements and disdain of the owner, who is clearly upset by anyone who isn't his "type".
- Pros: great food
- Cons: owner uptight
OK

It didn't live up to our expectations from what we heard about Lucy's. I am not saying to stay away or it's a bad place or anything like that. It just was an OK place to go. Nothing to rave about. The meat was overcooked, even after asking for rare. The ribs were dry and tasted like they were warmed up from the night before and the special, which was the most expensive thing, wasn't all that special. Service was just OK as well. Our waitress had been eating food in the back, her own admition, and still had some sauce on her face. Asked for a refill on my iced tea when the main course came and didn't get it until the bus boy noticed it was empty when he was clearing our plates. Again we weren't impressed based on the hype we have heard. There are a lot worse places to eat though and I know our experience was a rare one, at least we hope so.
- Cons: chairs are really cheap

I have frequent guest to Lucy's Table through-out the years and have ALWAYS been pleased.....however upon our last visit only one regular server could been seen and unfortunatly she was in another section. If you know of Lucy's past, ask for experience....our server was unknowledgable about wine or service style and never smiled, not once. I am used to informed, educational, and engaged servers at Lucy's who have always enchanced our experience and unfortunately it seems not to be the case anymore. The food was good, but Lucy's has always had service....until now. The space seems confused, but I will still return for the goat cheese ravioli's or happy hour, but if for dinner I will return on the gamble that I get a server who knows the job.
- Pros: Portland Classic
- Cons: inconsistent service

I'll never listen to my daughter's friend, again. This was the most expensive experience, I have ever had, in 53 years of dining out. The food was over-seasoned, and where there were sauces, the seasonings were not allowed to develop, and mellow out. First time, I ever had gristle in a rib-eye steak, at $22, for 6oz, and I have eaten many hundreds. So, 7 appetizers, 3 dinners, 1 salad, 1 glass wine, and 2 cups coffee, with an automatically added 18% gratuity, came to $190. First, I like to determine my tip, because that's my way of rating , and rewarding the food & service. I don't have enough room here, to state all my feelings, about this place. The high prices, put a bad taste, in my mouth, and it's quality didn't help. Should be rated $$$$.
- Pros: Good atmosphere
- Cons: No Parking. long walk, Where's the waiter?, Not what I'd tip.
