When you see native people in any ethnic restaurant dining and making majority of customers , that will be pretty good sign that you have found an authentic eatery . It is sad how many “Chinese” restaurants got lost in translation , and yes that is case with House of Louie . We ordered a Szechuan dish which is supposed to be spicy , but nothing was bearing heat in this dish! The pepper paste on the table must have been old as well because the many tablespoons we added to our food had no effect. The Chinese food seemed very Americanized. Very disappointing for a restaurant in the heart of “Chinatown”. Cheers

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Food lacked spice, flavor

Editor's Review

This Chinatown landmark's ornate, colorful exterior is as well known as the dependable Chinese food inside.  See the full editorial review.
