Drag show leaves much to be desired. These "Ladies" have little or no talent. If you're going to lip-sync--please try to learn the words. No ventilation--so be prepared to be hot boxed by cigarette smoke. Dance floor is small, lights are over-the-top in a bad way, creates a feeling like a bad acid trip--and watch out for gropers. Bathroom stalls are shorter than 5', so be prepared for awkward situations...

Pros: Uh...

Cons: Everything.

Rude large bartender with long frizzy hair wouldn't fix my drink right. He has an attitude problem, and even threw an object at a customer. However, really fun drag queen, lip synch show with great costumes and dance moves! Fun show that went on for a few hours on friday night. Plenty of video poker machines, pool table and gold fish aquarium inside the bar, must see to believe! In the back dance club, another rude waitress pushing drinks on me over and over, even though I had a drink 2/3 full. But great dark, moody atmospher and fun retro music from Depeche Mode, Human League and classic bands with real style. Not todays American Idol and rap junk. Interesting crowd of gay, straight and bi folks. Some were dancing alone, seemed to be in their own world. Not too much mingling, people seemed to stay alone, or stick with their group. Older rundown place, but seems to fit the mood and character of the people there.

Embers should have been put out of its sorry misery long ago. It's a pathetic, tired, wannabe excuse for a dance club. They haven't upgraded a thing in 20 years - not the music, not the lame-ass dj who spins only for himself, not the terrible drinks, not the inattentive bartenders, not the ancient drag queens, not the overflowing toilets. And masses of idiot patrons think it's all fantastic! I don't get it. It's as if it's in a black hole with no awareness of time: I would like to be able to dance to something besides "Tainted Love."

Cons: Terrible dj who spins ancient tunes even when no one's on the floor.

I went to enjoy some drinks and some drag queens... I can't complain about either one. On the other hand music was tired, the dance floor was small and the sitting area was tiny, but I still had fun.

Pros: Drag Queens, bartenders were really nice

Cons: Small Dance floor, Hardly any place to sit and hang out

Two weekends ago, my best friend & I showed up at Embers looking forward for a fun break in dancing the night away. The drag queen show crowd were feisty, fun and funny. While the atmosphere appears run down and could use some sprucing up, it served its purpose. The bar tender kindly submitted our 80'S song requests that the DJ honored all of them. Thank you! All was good, until some black (cute) dude came along and started to aggressively dance with me and then exposed his private thing to me right on the dance floor! I was angry, shocked and disgusted. He attempted to apologize and left after I warned the pervert to get away from me. Here I thought was once a safe friendly bar to go to and this dude had to go ruin it. I'll never go back due to no longer feeling safe.

Pros: Great loud vibrational music and DJ will honor your song requests (especially from 80's)

Cons: Weird perversed aggressive drunks

Pros: FRIENDLY PEOPLE, CHEAP DRINKS, GREAT MUSIC

Cons: NONE

Embers always has a love-hate feeling. Personally, I don't like the establishment. Their themed nights are a lot of fun. Latinos Nights were on Sundays, and a lipsyncing show usually happens on the weekends. Drinks are very affordable. The popcorn is always free! There does seem to be a crowd there everytime I go and hardly ever overcrowded. Embers' covers never make sense to me. In my opinion, they overcharge and it doesn't make sense to me. Meanwhile, the crowd is very strange. I feel like I have to be very feminine in there to fit in with the drag queens. It does not feel like a gay bar at all. The dance floor is really smoky, and the bathrooms are kind of gross. Unless you know someone who can show you around, Embers is not a place to go all by yourself for the first time.

Pros: Good themes, large bar area, good drinks

Cons: Weird crowd, unnecessary covers

Oh my god! This place was absolutely horrible it was full of a bunch of retarded people and most of all was this guy named Rob Robinson. They shouldn't let that guy in. The music sucked and the drinks sucked to high hell. I'm never going there again and I highly recomend no one else does. Especiaslly Rob Robinson P.S. The drag queens were awesome ^_^

Pros: Drag queens

Cons: Rob Robinson

I loved the atmosphere at this club. I was in town visiting a friend and I happened to look this place up on Cityspace just because I needed my fix of Retro & dance music. I had fun. Good music, friendly people. My only complaint was the dance floor, which was a bit too small. Other than that, i will have to come back soon the next time I'm in town.

I'd have to say this way a great way to spend my 21st birthday! The music was a great mix of 80's pop and today's hip-hop, mixed with friendly dancers who didn't get mad when a couple of tipsy girls ran into them. The dance floor is a bit small if its crowded, but nonetheless, a fabulous place to dance. The doormen were friendly, and the drinks were tasty to boot. A great place for everyone - women, men, etc!

Pros: music, staff, cheap

Cons: small dance floor
