I constantly get compliments on my hair! Who can ask for more than that? I've been with Phari who is great! When she was out Nate took my appointment and gave me a flattering trim and gorgeous color! He is also a pleasure to speak with and pretty nice to look at too ; - ) The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly with the nicest receptionists anywhere!

Pros: I leave with great hair!!!

It really makes me happy when I experience extraordinary service and when people do what they do well and enjoy their work. My haircut was great and I loved the price. You do not need to pay $70 for a haircut ever again. Kari was super friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable about hair. I only write reviews on here if I truly love or hate a business and I loved this one.

I have never had a stylist that i wanted to stay with, i went from place to place over the years, until my sister reccomended Hello Gorgeous.....i went in and had the nicest experience with "Barb", just a basic trim (since i was so timid), then when she went on maternity leave i started with Jamie, i knew i wanted to completely change my look, without doing something totally crazy...she did an AMAZING job!!!! i have never had so many compliments on my hair...ever!!!!!! all of the talented stylists who work here seem to REALLY listen and want to please the client, and do a great job at it! i've finally found a salon i will stick with...

Pros: Amazing talent, super nice people, NOT the typical snobbish salon

For the price you could get a nicer atmosphere in a lot of the other spas that are in the area. Nothing to really distinguish it

I've been seeing the stylists at Hello Gorgeous for years. They stand behind the service they're providing. Twice I've wanted an adjustment to the style I'd received (once color and once cut), and I was welcomed back enthusiastically, at NO CHARGE! They also encourage you to return product you do not like or no longer use for a full credit. Excellent service! I've recommended Hello Gorgeous to many people and they've all left happy.

Pros: Skilled stylists, customer service.

I was really impressed with this salon. I am from Edinburgh and had a bad hair deal at another very over priced salon up the road, and I was particularly impressed with the consultation time- my stylist took the time to find out what I wanted and how this could be achieved. I was equally impressed with the price, very reasonable and I will certainly return. Thanks Hello Gorgeous....

Pros: Great consultation / experienced staff

Cons: Salon smelled a little damp and more work on decor (tiled floor?)

Kari R is the best hair design artist I've ever been to!!! I receive compliments from compete strangers about my cut and hair color where ever I go-- it's the best I've ever looked! I recommend Kari R to everyone -- she's fantastic!! If you ever want to look the best you can be just have Kari do her magic on you. A totally amazing experience, I won't go to anyone but her!!! Thanks Kari!

Pros: An experience of a lifetime (if you book in advance an appointment) Kari R is fabulous!!

Cons: Kari R appointments fill up really fast so make sure to schedule an appointment, she's the best designer, stylist I've ever been to!

Crae is the best f'in hair crazy art goddess you've ever had the luxury of reading about, meeting and / or sharing the same planet with. Her talents are far greater than yours, so you might as well do one of two things : either throw yourself off the Morrison bridge (not pretty) or carry your @ss into her salon (you'll be pretty by the time she's done with your skanky mop). By the way, Nate does a shampoo that is utterly org@smic and you'll leave the salon feeling like a spanked nun that had immaculate conception by the hair gods. Yes, it's that good. Bring a cigarette for after.

Pros: Everything. Experience, talent, service, convenience, staff friendliness, products - it's all uber-fantabulous!

Cons: You're kidding, right? Nothing.

The last, very negative review was shocking. Someone was having a bad day. I've been a patron of this salon since a referral six years ago. I've had services from all three principals and many of the young, talented stylists. I've sent a great many people there myself: some really needed help to correct heinous overprocessing and bad cuts/color. Others had very specific needs (a dark haired businesswoman who's gone platinum these last few years) requiring a delicate hand, needs that could only be addressed by someone with excellent experience. They're all still clients. I've had cuts and color and straightening treatments and styling. Never once have I had anything but the highest praise for this salon. And, by the way, not that it matters, but you'd find a great many Portland "who's who" in that computer system, and they don't truck with a bad experience. What speaks to me about Hello Gorgeous is the business model upon which the salon is staffed. The cream of the crop is culled from the schools; they then undergo rigorous apprenticeship and training within the salon, and are required to take continuing education classes. The owners/principles are highly accomplished stylists and colorists, and have taken their share of awards. Their personalities have to fit the vibe of the place. The former review is a wholly inaccurate representation of this operation. Furthermore: you'll get more than great hair there. You'll laugh and have fun in an atmosphere that is completely lacking pretension and fully supported by professional knowledge, personal training, and consummate professionalism. I'm a princess: I know my beauty spots. Hello Gorgeous is the best I've ever had.

Visited Hello Gorgeous by a referral. My expeience there was not good! The people that work there seem to be cold and act as if they know it all, and are not that talented in hair. I was very disappointed in the choppy haircut I received, it was very uneven and looked like a lawnmower had been taken through it. My highlights were NOT what I asked for at all, they were not lightend enough and still had some orange in them, they tried to do this process they call wet gloss to tone more of the orange out, it helped some and made it more gold, which is what I did NOT want either, I had told them I wanted pale blonde highlights, I had virgin medium brownn hair and i had had this done a few years ago and knew it could be done, and I was told there that Hello Gorgeous could do it, well they failed compleletly! I left very upset and payed a lot for what I did NOT ask for. I surely will NEVER be going back to this over rated salon, and that is what this salon is, it is OVER RATED! Not very experienced, and even the ones that say they are experienced have gotten old and have lost there touch and should move onto some other job to do in there life. People of Portland I definately would NOT recommend this salon, a waiste of time and your hard earned money and they do have a way to try to push product on you so you will buy it, waaaaay over priced too!!!! There are WAAAY too many other talented salons and stylist to go to in Portland than this salon!!!!!!!

Pros: they did have parking passes for there parking lot

Cons: inexperienced stylist, even experienced stylist were not good,rude and cold environment,too expsensive,bad hair services!
