SYLVIE CLOSED THIER DOORS......NO BIG SURPRISE & IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!
by member3000
Well it finally happened! The owner couldn't handle it anymore! First she sold it to a con-artist named Dave, a few years back. She was getting married and wanted out of the business. Then Dave stole the employee's money but before ditching town he talked her back into buying the business back! She agreed to it. But never really wanted it back. Sharon should have turned the other cheek and let someone with passion for the beauty industry buy it. Instead, the so called "spa" continued on with a horrible front desk, terrible manager, and a few good hair stylist that were not getting paid what they were worth. She hired a few ridiculous hair stylist that made the salon look crazy! Fired a great Aesthetician, who she was the only reason I went there. When she let her go, is when things started going down hill. Everyone, meaning clients can see when a place is barely hanging on. I've been going to Sylvie for about 5 years off and on. I can not tell you how great it feels to see someone's karma come full force!! This is for all the GREAT ones that has come and gone. She fired the wrong people! What goes around, comes around!!! I feel sorry for the few okay people who have to pick up Sharon's mess. I wish them luck and I hope they find a nice place that's not going to steal their money from them.
- Pros: The doors a finally closed and maybe a Starbucks can go up!!!
- Cons: everything was, not anymore
Attention Jessica Clark's Clients!
by jessicaknowsyou
Hello everyone its Jessica. Sylvie Day Spa closed unexpectedly last Saturday, November 15th. Much to my dismay I do not have correct information to contact many of my clients. I am so sorry if you have called Sylvie or heard through the grapevine that it had closed without me contacting you. I value all of you and would love to see you at my new salon. It is Bouffant Salon in the pearl district, the address is 33 n.w. 9th ave, second floor, Portland, Or, 97209. Their phone number is 503-224-4099. I have started at the new space(I love it!) and would love to see all of you there. Again, I apologize if you have not been contacted. I am trying to locate correct phone numbers in hopes of reaching everyone personally. Thank you for all of your continued support. Sincerely, Jessica
Sylvie & Eric ROCK!
by pdxrocker9
I was recently in need of a change and went to see Eric at Sylvie's for a cut and color. After discussing what I was looking for, Eric sent me away with the new 'sassy' and fabulous look I was wanting! After more than a decade of having my hair colored, I've never been this happy! With his techniques - he was able to cut and color my hair in an hour. I've waited three hours in the past. Love his edgy ideas. He used Sidlab Hair Couture products - and I bought some to use at home as well - the products are GREAT! I had been using Bumble and Bumble prior to switching to Sidlab. Try them - you won't be disappointed. Sylvie is in a great location - a great spa atmosphere - and with parking, which is rare to find in the NW! Eric - - you ROCK! Thank you!!
- Pros: Parking, Great Service, Wine, Atmosphere, Prompt
- Cons: ???
Odessa for waxing!
by slb65
I've been a regular of Odessa's (for brazilian waxes) for about a year now - she is absolutely fantastic! I started at university last year, and haven't been able to find anyone as nice or as knowledgable about waxing as her, so it's always a relief to come home and book an appointment with her. She's very personable and makes you feel comfortable and at ease, which I think is a super important part of having good "down there" waxing experience. She uses the blue wax, which takes longer than strip wax (an appointment is an hour) but I've had both kinds used before and I really prefer Odessa's approach. She's very careful to make sure that you have a voice while you're being waxed - always asking if the wax is too hot, if you prefer small or large sections to be done, landing strip or full monty / completely bare, etc. I'd definitely recommend her to any first timers or anyone looking for a new esthetician that speciailizes in waxing!
- Pros: Best brazilians
- Cons: She's very popular - book an appointment well ahead of time!
I agree, SIDLAB is a problem!!
by salongal08
I have had bad experiences with Eric Alan and Sidlab also. Eric may be a good hairdresser but why does he move around so much? unreliable maybe? a bit crazy, definitely. DON'T deal with Sidlab!
SALON OWNERS BEWARE!
by ffgehrke
Eric Alan Nelson may be an incredible hairstylist? But when it comes to Sidlab Hair Couture he and his "vice president" are much less. They offer no guarantee for thier supposed high qualtiy hair products. And just in case your not happy dont bother trying to return them...........unless your willing to pay a non-disclosed 50% restocking fee!!!!! It all seems a little sketchy to me. I doubt if this business will around long.
