Such a Sweet Store!

by bowmama

This is the sweetest Children's store! They really go out of their way to make you feel special. I love all of the items I have purchased and received from Duck Duck Goose. The owner's are also really nice and they make sure that if they don't have what you need that they will find it. It's just like having a personal shopper... Thanks Ladies!

Best Children's Store in Portland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by mimismaddness

I have to start out by saying that this is such a GREAT store! I love the selection that they offer! Especially when shopping for a boy. They have unique items that you can't find anywhere else in Portland.

I completely disagree with the previous reviewers'...All of the employees that have helped me at Duck Duck Goose have always been sweet and very helpful. Sometimes people set such high expectations on how THEY should be treated that maybe they should get off their high horse. I find it totally offensive that someone finds it neccessary to bash a store over their own insecurities...check out the other reviews left by gogogogogogogogo. WOW! Such an angry and unhappy person! Duck Duck Goose is awesome....go check it out!

Rude, over-priced

by Lilanyc

The last user couldn't have said it better. I also am from NYC and this place has severe attitude. They don't sell anything that you can't buy somewhere else. So...go somewhere else.

Snooty service

by gogogogogogogogo

Talk about snooty salespeople. I am from NY and stopped by to shop while strolling down 23rd Avenue. The two ladies in the store were so rude and I had every intention of buying a lot of items in the store, that I left in about 10 minutes. It would not hurt you two ladies to smile once in a while and say hello when someone walks in the door. They look at you like you are going to steal something if you seem to be taking to long looking at the merchandise in the store.

I will definately tell my friends when they visit Portland, not to bother going to DDG on 23rd Avenue.

Heirloom-quality children's items

by marenkenyon

This shop is filled with high-quality, lovely baby and children's items. It's the perfect store to find a special gift if you feel like spoiling a child you know. The merchandise is all beautifully designed and constructed, so you would expect the prices to be higher than a Walmart. Ignore the criticism of some of the previous critics. Anybody who can't spell "catty" should do their shopping at Babies R Us. I have never met the owner, but instead of criticizing someone's appearance, I'll take the space to praise the lovely items sold in this shop. Portland is big enough to sustain a store of beautiful children's items. We shouldn't have to fly to Seattle or San Francisco to find unique, heirloom-quality clothing for babies and little ones. I love this shop.

  • Pros: best quality in town. Well-made clothing.

High-end clothing, Service has improved!

by Anne60

If you're on a budget this store is not for you! High-end clothing, high-end prices! I have been in the Goose several times and the service seems to have improved a great deal. If you're looking for custom made girls Euro clothing, try "It's Sew Adorable" in Hillsboro. It's not a brick and mortar store but I'm sure you can find her on-line.

  • Pros: Nice selection
  • Cons: Too Glitzy

Wonderful Experience at the Goose

by annecgoose

I have purchased one cd and two Petit Bateau bodies for my future niece, and my experience was a pleasant one. Indeed, one of the owners asked me if I was doing fine finding the items I was looking for. During the transaction, we talked about France, my native country.

Also, my ex-husband bought many clothes for his daughter and his son. He was always well treated by the staff. Enjoyable experience at all times and an artistic decor!

  • Pros: Large selection of brands both local and foreign
  • Cons: High prices when not on sale

Upscale children's clothing

by aimeety

I love visiting the Goose when I'm shopping on NW 23rd. They carry all the French brands that you can't find at other places. Upon reading the citysearch reviews there are some pretty bad ones for Goose. I think I know what the problem is. Okay, here it is ladies: don't go into this store if you don't have a disposable income. It's expensive and if you can't afford to buy anything or have to return it once you buy it, it isn't their problem. And though I didn't see any leopard prints when I was in there I did see a $70 onesie, which I bought. So if you don't want to be around rich snobs then stay out of the Goose.

Great for gifts and special occasions

by twofishes

The staff has always been completely helpful and attentive. They will even go around the store and bring any items that might fit your needs directly to you. They always take the time to make sure my purchase is just right and they are patient and kind to my children when I bring them with me. It is a higher end shop, so it is understandable that most people wouldn't buy their children's entire wardrobes there, but it is perfect for gifts and outfits for special occasions like weddings, holidays and pictures. There really is something for everyone in this shop. I think some people may mistake high-end prices and employees who are helpful instead of pushy as snobby but those people would be making a big mistake and missing out on a wonderful shopping experience. Also, the return policy is very clear and not at all unusual for a small boutique: sale items are final and all other purchases can be returned for exchange or store credit (which is good for one year). I think the receipt states 14 days to return an item, but in my experience this has always been reasonably flexable and as long as the item has not been sold out then it can be returned (if it has been marked down and the purchase was made some time ago, you may only get the sale price, but that is still more flexable than a lot of other retailers).

  • Pros: selection, service, quality of merchandise

To Colby

by annette81

All I have to say is you must lead a very sad and meaningless life if you have nothing better to do than go on-line and write mean and nasty comments about other people. I hope you don't teach your children to behave that way. As for my experience at Duck Duck Goose I have never encountered anything but friendly and helpful service.

  • Pros: Friendly people
  • Cons: None
