There's nothing like sleeping on the sheets from the Compleat Bed & Breakfast. The only thing that compares is how easy the friendly and knowledgable staff made it to get the right linens for me! If you are interested in fine linen this is a great place to learn the basics and dive in! Great gifts and home accessories too :^)

When I moved into this neighborhood I almost dreaded visiting 'Trendy-third" because of all those snooty shop owners; you know the ones! Well this is NOT one of those shops! In fact my experience on EVERY occasion I've shopped to pick up yet another fabulous bamboo towel, a Portland picture-from-the-past, or another trinket, has been memorable. And this season - with complimentary gift wrapping - and actually chatting with the owner who is genuine and warm, well what can I say - made me feel "compleat" this season! LOVE THIS SHOP. You've got to stop in!

Northwest 23 is a must stop when visiting Portland, but the little shop that stands out is Be Compleat, formally known as the Compleat Bed & Breakfast. Upon entering your senses come alive to smells and sounds which take you to a far off place of which dreams are made. The shop's keeper and her staff will greet you as if you're an old friend. They will take you on a tour through the store and their expertise -- especially in linens -- is amazing and impressive. The shop is filled with treasures that can transform your own home into a luxurious destination.

Pros: Unique items not found elsewhere

Cons: Parking can be a challenge in the area

I usually don't write many reviews but felt compelled to make a note about my experiences over the years at The Compleat Bed & Breakfast on NW 23rd. This shop truly is a gem! So Portland but one step into the quaint shop reminds you of stepping into romantic Europe. Magic! The people, the service, the atmosphere, the fine quality linens and beautiful home decor items and gifts are a treat one could get spoiled on. My first few trips there I learned how to take care of my gorgeous towls and linens as they should be. Things I never knew! The quality is only the finest and the owner settles for nothing less. Her custom down comforters are a must! I LOVE mine. My master suite is the finest room in my home that draws oohs and awws of admiration from friends and family that stop by. We've never slept so beautifully. Life's too short to sleep on cheap linens. I highly recommend this shop - it's the only place my home linens come from. And what a fun location! My friends and family often enjoy a day of shopping local shops on NW 23rd. Next time your out, make the Compleat Bed & Breakfast your first stop. You won't regret it!

My husband and I recently downsized to a Queen size bed so I was in the market for new linens. My friend suggested this great little shop on NW 23rd. It had been several years since I had visited that part of town, and was quite surprised at the charm of the area! I was also impressed with the shops along the street! When I walked in to the Compleat Bed & Breakfast, I was greeted with great enthusiasm!( But was not over the top in pestering me while I looked around! Believe me....I am one who wants great customer service...because I am in the industry, and I give great service!!!!!) There were two ladies working, who were both very patient and thoughtful when helping me with my selections for my bed! I did take the time and spent over an hour working with the staff there. I went in there only with a color in mind. I changed my mind alot about pattern and pieces, but in the end was thrilled with the selection they offered!!!! I did have to wait a few weeks for my special order to arrive, but was truely well worth the wait! I have had my bed made now for a few days, and love everything about it! Thank you ladies for all your help! I will tell everyone I know about your store, and that they should shop only there for the finest quality linens! OH YEAH!! I found out that this women has been in business for 17 years now! That alone should encourage you to shop there! Obviously they are doing something right!

Pros: Great amount of samples, variety of stock on hand, AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Cons: Parking is terrible at lunch time, high end so it is expensive....(but worth the investment)
