Finest Pie this side of the Mississippi!
by jennilynn at Citysearch
Absolutely my FAVORITE pizza in Portland! Nothing compares. I've been known to drive 30 minutes out of my way just to get a slice. I suggest you give it a try.
One in every port

Known as EFNY by the cool kids, this pizzeria actually does what it claims: gives you good New York pizza.
The za might not be much to look at, but theres a reason the line is out the door on most days and a slice is worth the 5 minute wait. Being Portland, the beer is expectedly good, leaving you pretty darn near paradise: Good pizza and good beer what else do you need? Maybe a fulfilling career and rewarding relationships, but cmon, this is a pizza place.
Speaking of matters of the heart, mine was broken by Flying Pie when they promised me a Chicago crust. So I now find refuge in the very different New York pie, but you learn to move on, no? While Chicago pizza remains my first love, EFNY keeps me happy at home.
- Pros: Great, great 'za, Cheap, Fast
- Cons: Weak indoor seating
absolutely fabulous

Escape from NY has wonderful pizza, the best in Portland. With their location up there on NW 23rd, I don't see how anyone could find a more charming and casual place to kick back and enjoy!!

Escape From Good Taste
by BronxBoy at Citysearch
I was born and raised in da Bronx, thats NYC for your Portlanders. Escape from NY would be luaghed out of the 5 corners of NYC faster than Kornblats, another piece junk eatery claimng to be New Yorkesque. A pizza without good sauce is worthless and this pizza is just that. It tates like it came out of a jar marked Ragu. What happened to the flavor??? The crust was joke, one bite in it lets you know that you are miles away from a real NY pizza place. I bet everyone here who digs it so much is either an owner or has never been to NYC for real pizza, and please dont go on about the one time you were in NYC for a day and you stopped at a Saburu's..please.
- Pros: It eventualy closes
- Cons: Bad taste, The crust is the pits, NYC? In what reality?
Great pie, NY style
by DanFazio_Citysearch at Citysearch
As if it were actually located in NY--where urban space is really at a premium--this joint is wedged into a NW space barely wide enough for two-lane foot traffic. The slices are cheap and delicious--among the best in town. Highly recommended!
A fan for years

I've been a fan of NY Pizza since high school. Cheap, greasy goodness on a paper plate. Best bang for the buck.
- Pros: cheap, yummy
- Cons: no parking, no delivery
