Attitude? Eh, deal with it. One of the best slices in town!
by futurelegend at Citysearch
When I first signed up for this CitySearch account, I did so out of frustration from sites like Craigslist other CitySearch reviews. One of the first reviews I wanted to post was for Escape From New York. It has been my neighborhood slice for ten years.
Indeed, it was my first Portland slice, and I will discount immediately any argument on whether it is authentic New York or not. What is Escape? It is one of my favorite little pleasures. It's a huge, greasy, goopy, slice... good from point to every last bit of the crust.
Stop with the attitude and pretense. This is a pizza slice to crave. The whole milk mozzarella, perfect garlic-y sauce and crust really needs no other toppings. Stick with the cheese. Just eat it.
Don't like the attitude? Deal with it.
I hope Escape never escapes from the hood.
- Pros: It's a good pizza slice... just let go of your preconceptions.
- Cons: None. Just find parking and try a slice.
Great Pizza

Walking down 23rd and just catching a whiff of good pizza is enough to drive anyone wild. They'll heat up your slice and get you on your way to having truly authentic new york pizza. They've got different kinds each day and I just can't choose a favorite. The pizza speaks for itself give it a try.
- Pros: great pizza, good service
- Cons: parking
Pizza like the East Coast?
by rpg1377 at Citysearch
Well, I went here during my lunch at work once and it was an OK experience. The pizza is served fast, and it is very affordable. The employees were nice, and their pizza slices were generous. I would recommend it if you want quick food, but it wasn't the best IMO.
- Pros: Large portions, Fast Service
- Cons: Dry Pizza, Lack of Seating, Does Not Accept Debit/Credit
A classic place to get a slice of 'za !

A Portland legend and ture to the NYC tradition. Can watch the pizza's being made from the street, long narrow restaurant with tons of NYC history on the walls. feels like your in the Big Apple while there. Pizza slices are huge, soft and the best part is that you can fold them in half so that the droop doesn't occur !! perfect cheese/sauce combo and CHEAP.
- Pros: price, quality, outside seating
- Cons: not gourmet, tight space
Great pie, NY style
by DanFazio_Citysearch at Citysearch
As if it were actually located in NY--where urban space is really at a premium--this joint is wedged into a NW space barely wide enough for two-lane foot traffic. The slices are cheap and delicious--among the best in town. Highly recommended!
A fan for years

I've been a fan of NY Pizza since high school. Cheap, greasy goodness on a paper plate. Best bang for the buck.
- Pros: cheap, yummy
- Cons: no parking, no delivery
