OHS is the best by Sha B. at InsiderPages

I love the Oregon Humane Society, if you haven't had the chance, head over to their website and check out their cat cam, it's a webcam setup in the front kitty playpen, 24 hours a day. This sheltor has really growed over the years and now it's beautiful. Now the entire shelter is a very clean environment and is brite and cheerful. They have a section for cats, another for dogs and another for misc pets like rabbits, mice, rats, birds and chinchilas. The adoption fees are reasonable and also give a discount for senior citizens, if the facility decides to enforce that, make sure you mention that every minute if you want that discount or they'll get around it, they did that to my mom. I highly recommend getting a pet as soon as possible, after Hurricane Katrina, there's tons of pets looking for a loving home.
PROS: Helpful on floor staff, animals galore
CONS: Office staff not so friendly

Purebreds, mutts, puppies, kittens, rabbits, ducks, rodents--young and old, the Humane Society has them all for adoption.
OHS is a worthy charity

In the past six years alone I've adopted three dogs from the Oregon Humane Society. The new shelter on Columbia boulevard is pleasent for both the animals looking for a new home and the humans looking for an animal companion. The staff and volunteers make sure the person looking to adopt an animal will be able to properly care for it. If you're looking to add a dog or cat to your household the OHS should be your first stop.
- Pros: clean, good parking, non-euthanizing
