I have no idea why this is the "Best Burger"
by 124mimikay at Citysearch
Where's the beef? There was nothing on the bun except onions and lettuce. Soggy fries too! Ick.
I don't get it. Nothing special here. I'm still seaching for the "Best Burger".
- Pros: None
- Cons: All
Burgers yes..fries, what ARE they?

My husband I came here in the late 80's after everyone said we HAD to. We hated it.
Then we discovered in 2003 that we hadn't ordered "The Special" and really....there is no other reason to go here except for that! Our mistake!
Now we know go at least once a month. The staff is kind and there is sometimes a crazy wait, but they keep the beer full!
And they are all so good with children!
- Pros: Hamburger, staff
- Cons: no credit cards?????, fries (yuck)
Best burgers

Bring your cash because they still don't take plastic. Simply the best burger in town though. Stanich burgers blow-away all the high priced restaurants and at half the cost. Fries are a bit greasy for my taste but are good and plentiful.
- Pros: value
- Cons: service somewhat slow
Best Burger in town
by dblack19 at Citysearch
Stanich's has always been a great place to get a Good burger. Their fries could definately use some work, but their burgers are juicy, with buns lightly toasted to perfection, and are well worth the wait you may encounter. I just found out they have a Stanich's in SW near John's Landing too. Much less crowded, and all the same great burger!
- Pros: Amazing Burger
- Cons: Fries aren't so good
Yum,Yum!

Stanich has been around for ever,or at least for as long as I can remember,& are always great for their burgers,a little more focus on their fries could help ,but when you get a burger as good as this who cares about eating the fries,if you could, after, finishing the burger!! Because of the popularty there is always a wait but well worth it!!
- Pros: Great Burgers, Great appearance, inexpensive
- Cons: Parking, not large enough, Faster Service
waiting for a small burger
by citycurt at Citysearch
I signed up to give feedback after I ate here. It took an hour to get the "world's greatest burger". I am not exagerating. I looked around at the other tables who were all eyeing the waitress in hopes they would eat soon. They told us it would be a wait but we had no idea that meant an hour for two mediocre hamburgers and some greasy burnt fries. The wait staff was friendly and apologetic but I felt ripped off. I wish I had read the comments before coming here. Apparently they are banking on their old reputation.
Don't eat here.
People come from near and far to get their burger fix here.

In Short
Wood-paneled walls are plastered with sports banners, many fading and worn, from every college and pro sports team imaginable. The well-worn booths and Formica tables have been visited over and over by loyal patrons for 50 years and counting. The World's Greatest Hamburger is legendary in these parts, piled with cheese, ham, bacon, fried egg, tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions and special sauce--mustard, mayo and relish. The fries are thick, hand-cut and fried.
- Pros: inexpensiveultra casual
Good news-bad news
by armax at Citysearch
The burgers were good, the prices are very reasonable, and they did pay attention to our high maintenance order for 5 people. The bad news is the wait time. Expect an hour, long enough for burger and fries odor to permeate your hair and clothing. I hear the SW location is much faster.
mikes fav.

It is common knowledge that when Michael Jordan comes to do business at Nike he requires the limo to stop on his way into town and stop on his way out of town to pick up a Stanich burger, enough said
Good burguer, wrong day for fries
by ypioca at Citysearch
I rate my burgers under 2 categories. The large, often over 1/3 pound, good quality meat burgers, where the beef is the centerpiece, and everything else. This falls under the latter.
The burger was above average. Their sweet relish-ish sauce is good, but there was a little too much of it. I would've expected a fresher hunkier slice of bacon.
Now, the fries on the other hand, I could've done without. They were wilty and dark. Like somebody dumped 2 tons of spuds in oil that was beyond recycled.
Service was prompt and friendly.
- Pros: ambience, burger
- Cons: fries
