YEN HA HAS GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE!
by smpage2001 at Citysearch
I WAS LUCKY TO FIND THIS PLACE ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO A FREIND OF MINE GARBO TURNED ME ON TO THEM. HE AND HIS FAMILY HAVE BEEN EATING THERE FOR OVER A 15 YEARS I HAVE COME TO TRY MANY THINGS ON THE MENU AND HERE ARE MY FAVORITES: THE SALT AND PEPPER CALAMARI IS SOME OF THE BEST IN TOWN PERIOD, THE PHO IS AWESOME, THE SALAD ROLLS ARE ALWAYS DELICIOUS AND THEY HAVE A CHIENSE HOT AND SOUR SOUP NOT ON THE MENU BUT YOU CAN ORDER THAT IS LARGE AND A GREAT MEAL IF YOU ADD A STIR FRIED RICE DISH YOU CAN FEED SEVERAL PEOPLE IT IS A VERY GOOD STARTER. I SAY TAKE A FEW CHANCES EVERYTIME YOU GO THE MENU IS 5 PAGES. THESE FOLKS ARE ALWAYS IN GOOD MOOD I KNOW YOU WILL GO BACK. ALL OF MY FRIENDS EAT THERE. CHEERS YEN HA!
- Pros: SELECTION AND VALUE!
- Cons: ITS NOT SWANKY BUT RETRO AND ALL ABOUT THE FOOD
Best Vietnamese in Town
by ruthieb at Citysearch
My boyfriend and I are very centralized and rarely leave our hawthorn area neighborhood, but this restaurant is worth the trip. I have a constant craving for Vietnamese food and have tried many places closer to my close-in SE home but Yen Ha is by far the best.
- Pros: Great Food
- Cons: Bad Location

We weren't sure what to expect. Being fans of salted pepper squid we strayed from our ususal spot and decided to try Yen Ha. -AND WE ARE GLAD WE DID! Flavor, quality of food, and service was awesome! I will defintely return and recommend this place to everyone I know! Our new favorite spot!

They have a little bit of everything at Yen Ha. The location is great and the setting is fantastic. If you have no idea if you like Vietnamese food then you will be impressed with Yen Ha.

Being Vietnamese myself, I've yet to find a place that can beat the authentic food at Yen Ha. I'm a frequent customer at the place and I strongly recommend it. The Mongolian beef rolled in rice paper, fresh vegetables dipped in special sauce is my favorite! They even have a lounge next door, which is a pretty cool place to hang out on the weekends.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious food, Nice atmosphere
- Cons: Crowded, Odd waiter
Decent, but irritating

A very extensive menu with great prices. Unfortunately, French Style Cubed Beef - a staple on a Vietnamese Chinese menu - is missing. The shrimp/pork appetizer was filling, but a bit too salty. The beef with wine sauce, pork fried rice, Vietnamese eggrolls, and fried fish were all decent. If you like exotic fruits try their yummy jackfruit shake. The eccentric waiter is amusing at first, but his act gets tiresome very fast.
- Pros: fruit shakes
- Cons: waiter

Been to Yen Ha numerous times.... Love the food. Their wonton soup is great. Also their calamari... Noodles are always good too. Love their hot pot rice. There are some weird stuff there that I wouldn't try but overall this place is wonderful.
