Defining Image Salon

I have been looking for a salon that understands my type of hair, I have gone to so many and just been disaapointed. I had tried Defining Image after seeing all the great reviews on them and I can see why, they are super friendly and Ellery who did my hair cut and color was wonderful! He was very nice and did what I exactly what I asked for. The two of the hardest parts that I find when looking for a hairstylist is someone who can style my hair the way I want it and not how they want it and my hair is a bit color resisitant and I haven't been able to find someone who ever came close to getting my hair the color I wanted without multiple tries and Ellery did a great job on both accounts. I highly recommend this place and I will be going back.

Edan & staff are the best! I've been going to Defining Image for about 4 years. Several months ago, they changed their color product to more natural ingredients. The color was o.k. but after several months they decided they just weren't getting the best product and results for their customers! So, they switched back to the product that gives great coverage. Nice customer service. I have had cuts and color by most of the stylists - they are all professional and do a terrific job! I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Pros: Everything - great salon; friendly atmosphere

I went into the salon today to get my hair colored with Nicole and she did a great job. I was feeling like my color was really dull and lifeless and I wanted to go closer to my natural color but with some life still in it. Nicole did such a great job! I have this great rich brown now with amazingly sublty highlights and lowlights, it was exactly what I was looking for! I definatly will recomend this salon to all my friends.

Pros: Great Stylists, great atmosphere, great parking.

Cons: none so far

My hair is pretty nice and my color is ok, so, but my stylist quit doing hair, so, I thought I would try another salon. I went in and saw Christina, she was fun and down to earth. I told her I wanted to touch up my color. She looked at it and said no problem…but…I think we can make it better. I said, well, as long as I still have close to the same thing. She mixed up and went to work. When I looked in the mirror, when she was done. I just about fell out of the chair. I said, oh my gosh, this is so perfect. How did you know what I wanted more than me? I now know to trust a true professional.

I was in a couple weeks ago for a weave and cut with Ellery. The man is so talented. I hadn't been to a salon in over 30 years. Yes, I know 99.9% of the world has no comprehension of this. :-) I had had a series of horrible cuts when I was young and wouldn't step near a door. But at 50 I decided it was time to try again. (with great trepidations I might add) I found your site on-line. Your salon and it's people appealed. (AWESOME website designer too) I couldn't be happier with the service. Patti thanks for the awesome job on my eyebrows, and Ellery thank you for my awesome new look. Keeping my long hair was very important to me and I was confident Ellery realized that. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cut and color!! Thank you all SO much!! I feel better than ever at 50!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I will be back

Pros: People that listen and care;competent and professional without attitude

Cons: have to plan ahead, Ellery is busy!

I was just there on Friday Feb 29th, and Christine spent hours on me doing my hair. I would like you to just pass it on to her that I love my hair, and she did a GREAT job! I don't think that I let her know that - I have to admit that I don't know why I didn't tell her at the time, but I think that people should know when they did well, and she was great. The color is fab, and the cut and style is wonderful. Thanks again!

I always had great hair, but for some reason when I came to Portland from Denver, I have had a terrible time finding the right salon. I have been to three different salons, all rated pretty good, and they have all done a bad job with my hair color. I found Defining Image and wow! They really know their stuff. I had no idea what a specialist really was until I came here. Christina was working with me for awhile until we really understood each other, then she confirmed what she was going to do with the owner, before she mixed my color. My beautiful hair color is back, and my hair is actually in better condition.

"Get your big girl underpants on and deal with it" is my advice to all unhappy customers! Were you explicit with what look you wanted?? If your expectations were not met, did you return to the salon, stating what was wrong, request their help, correct what you did not like??? I read some sour reviews regarding color / cuts which are , as one might say, "Polar opposite' to my experience with Definning Image, Definning Image provides an entire package of quality care, professionally delievered. Try them - you'll not be disappointed!!!

I have been coming to Defining Image for about 6 years now and they are truly wonderful. Ever since I first came here they have taken great care of me and my hair. I was going through a divorce and felt like everything about me was gross. Ellery was very kind and caring and gave me the most beautiful hair color that I could have imagined…and cut too. I still get compliments 6 years later, so I guess I must maintain this color. It really lifted me up and shortly after my hair color, I decided to do the whole makeover. I asked Patty to do my makeup and face waxing, wow, I should have done this sooner. After I did the whole package I met my next husband and we have now been married for 3 years. Life is great thanks to the very caring staff at Defining Image.

I just spent $155 on the worst haircut and color I have ever received. I was in the salon for over 3 hours and left hating what I saw in the mirror. When I called for my appointment, I asked about pricing, which seemed high, but after reading reviews, I thought this place would be great. I guess it's important to get the right stylist at this place.
