Amy Cole at Tiger Lily is awesome. I have gotten 3 tattoos from her, and am very happy with all of them. One is words, one is from the children's book Harold and the Purple Crayon, and one is a uterus. I have had many compliments on how well-done the uterus is. I have always felt extremely comfortable with Amy as a person, as an artist, and with the shop overall (sanitation, atmosphere). Amy was also very patient, clear, open, and made me feel quite comfortable. I highly recommend her.
- Pros: Clean, Great Artists, Good Atmosphere, Patient,
- Cons: nope

I've always wanted to get a tattoo and with my birthday's coming up I was recommended from my friends to check out the Tiger Lilly Tattoo shop. When I first enter the shop everyone's so friendly and welcoming, I felt so comfortable with the staffs. I brought some of my designs in and with Mike V as my tattoo artist, he directed me of what design I should get and where I should put it. The second days I went back and Mike shown me the design that he drew for me and it looks sick! and hella tight on my right arm too. As a first timmer getting a tattoo, I felt so comfortable and the pain and cost was not what I expected. It was painless and affordable.
- Pros: Friendly staffs
- Cons: None

I love art, these artists at tiger lily do fine work. I also like not having to make an appointment, I think you should call to if you can, to help them schedule the day but they will fit in the stray impulsive customer if they can. I recommend them.

Mike V. is awesome. I've gone in w/out any idea of what I wanted and come out stoked. He did peacock feathers on my forearm over a year ago and the color and detail are (still)perfect, I get compliments all the time! I'm not local in pdx anymore but he's always made time for me when I'm in town and has some really creative ideas. Definitely recommend Tiger Lilly!

I got a tattoo back in June from Igor. I brought in a design a friend had drawn for me. Igor helped me change a few things I didn't like and even suggested a change I really loved. He was very nice (as was everyone I spoke to there) and my tattoo looks great. I'm definitely going back to Tiger Lilly for any more tattoos while I'm living in Portland.
- Pros: Friendly people, awesome art, knowledgeable staff
- Cons: Had to put a $50 deposit to make an appointment, street parking

I got my first tattoo from Mike V, the day after Obama got elected. I went to atleast ten other tattoo shops before I stopped at Tiger Lily. The shop is OK and the music was OPB talk radio that sucked. But when I saw Mike V's portiflio I was stoked because I was looking for great new traditional and thats exactly what it was. I highly recommend him, he doesnt tax you on the price, the parking is easy, and this Shop was featured in Tattoo magazine 1/1/2009 and thats awesome to show off to your buddys with tattoos from artists who haven't been featured in the top tattoo magazine.

First tattoo...AWESOME!

Getting my first tattoo was huge...the tattoo as well as the experience. I needed something to memorialize my friend who had passed away and it had to be something I'd be proud to wear for life. (NOTE: I've avoided tattoos for all of my 39 years, even when gently prodded by the very best friend who passed.) After a ton of research I decided to walk into Tigerlily. I was greeted by Igor in a very clean and sterile setting that also had a fun vibe. Igor and another artist who was in the middle of a session helped me with ideas. They wisely advised me to pick something my buddy loved that could be incorporated into a tribute without making me sad every time I looked in the mirror. I settled on the FN 5.7 gun with his intials in the grip and smoke from the chamber spelling out EOW. When I was ready, Igor was out of the country but I felt a great connection with Amy and her work. I didn't want a cartoon look for obvious reasons. The day of the tat I was nervous as hell but she reassured me and explained everything from what I'd feel to the importance of breathing. She had a gentle and deft hand. Her shading and creative technique with the smoke letters blew me away. It took a little over 3 hours but I never felt overwhelmed or bored. The time passed quickly and I had fun cracking jokes with her. I've received tons of compliments on it, especially from those who have been inked more than once. It healed quickly, never scabbed and only peeled a tiny bit. If I ever decide to get another, it will be at Tigerlily.
- Pros: Talented, professional, fun and creative artists all around.
- Cons: Parking can be a bit sparse depending on the time of day.
