I have been going to Giants for the past 4 years and I love it. In all honesty, I am selfish and don't want to tell people about this gym - because I relish the fact that it's never crowded and I hardly ever have to wait for equipment ... But the truth is that this is a fantastic local business and I feel good about supporting them. The trainers and staff at the gym are friendly and professional. For the past year, I've been working out with Jung - and he really pushes me to my limits. I've not only noticed a change in my body - but also in my attitude about working out and knowing what my body is capable of. Giants Gym rocks.
Pros: parking, friendly staff, casual atmosphere, not crowded

Yung's workout routine's have helped me achieve the results that I wanted. No other routines or training technique had ever worked for me before, but after working out with the techniques that Yung had shown me, I achieved the results that I was after, thanks Yung!

I love working out with Yung at Giants. Before I started training with him, my routines had become boring, and I felt as though I had reached a plateau. He showed me so many new exercises, as well as new techniques for the routine I had been doing. I would recommend him as a trainer to athletes of any level! Thanks Yung, Maura

The large selection of weight equipment is great, the location on NE Sandy Blvd is very convenient, and I'm happy to support a locally owned business. I was pleasantly surprised today to see the addition of new treadmills. A couple months ago I started personal training sessions with Yung. He is a great guy, very knowledgeable, and has helped me achieve my goals of getting stronger and being in better cardio shape through the circuit training programs he has developed.

this is the best gym I've run across in portland. Giants is down to earth and all about heping the members get the most out of their time in the gym. The staff at giants is very helpful and not afraid to aproach you and give you helpful hints on how to get the most out of your program. The trainers are very professional and knowledgable in the fitness arena. Go check out giants if you want a real gym and want to get real results. It feels like home.

I have been a member of giants for about one year. I have been seeing a personal trainer for this entire time. Jung is very knowledgeable and fun to work our with. I go in the mornings and the gym is never crowded. If you are looking for a place to workout and not a place to show off your new leotard, Giants is the place.
Response from this business

I was SO tired of fighting the crowds and waiting for equipment before I came to Giants Gym. They have a tremedous selection of free weights and machines, are open 24 ;hours a day, and I can always get to the equipment when I need it. I thought I didn't need the Activetracks workout program ( I have a lot of experience) but it was free so I tried it.....wow! My workouts are quicker, more comprehensive, and I never get bored! Awesome gym!
Pros: Great Atmosphere, Casual, Open 24 hours a day
Cons: none

I had tried the big chain club before and did not have a clue about how to workout or get started. They offered help with a separate 600 dollar program! At Giants Gym, they spent time doing a fitness history, and planning my custom workouts for free! I have been on the program for close to a year and have lost 40 pounds, and feel great. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, the place is clean, it is casual, locally owned, and it's not crowded! I also enjoy supporting a local business.
Pros: Clean, great custom workouts, friendly staff
Cons: none

Giants Gym is laid-back and the staff are friendly and helpful. What I like best is that it is never so crowded that I have to wait for long periods of time to use the equipment that I prefer. This is true even after 5 pm during weekdays. Their personal trainer Jung is very dedicated and enthusiastic. I like that my membership supports a local business.
Pros: space, parking, supporting local business
Cons: sometimes equipment is dusty
