User Reviews for Rose City Golf Course

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Now here is a course that offers more than you pay for. The challenges exist, including doglegs, water, bunkers, narrow driving holes, and undulating greens. Play this course often and your game will improve. For the dollar, there is no better local course. Improvements to fairways and greens are noticeable, and just because it doesn't cost too much, don't expect an easy time. This one is a blast, as holes are not generic and the layout keeps you guessing. Exactly what a golfer needs when wanting to play a tough course on a limited budget. Will play again and again.

Pros: Parking, location, playability

Cons: Busy and Marshal-less. Get off early

They have made many improvements since the reviews posted in 2003. New water hazards and maintenace is much improved. They have more to go and new tee boxes are being built now. If it has been awhile since you played, try again. Extra golf pelotas (apparently I can't say golf ba--- or the web site rejects it) in your bag is still good advice!

For a public course, this is one of the tougher layouts I've encountered. However, it's challenging and diverse in an inviting way. There is a bunch of bunkers surrounding most greens and trees closely line the fairways. The rolling hills also present hidden challenges, as well as the water hazzards. If there was one thing I could ask for, it would be for a firmer greens and better maintenance. Other than that I'd go back, with few more balls this time.

Pros: variety, the view

Cons: so so maintenance
