Best Chinese in all of Portland!
by pnkrkgrrl
This is by far my favourite Chinese restaurant of all time. During my 4 years in Portland I refused to eat Chinese anywhere else. The staff is friendly, the food is always wonderful, & I have yet to find a better crispy spring roll anywhere in the country! This is definitely a great spot to take out of town guests, as well as a great place for feeding a large family. Large portions are made to be shared!
- Pros: delicious food, great service, quick & accurate with to go orders
I love Golden Jade!
by papi30
My husband and I have been going to Golden Jade for at least 10 years, and it is our favorite Chinese food in town. They have consistently delicious food at very fair prices. Lunch is a good deal too! The service is the best in town and they often make special orders for us because we eat mostly vegetarian. We take all of our friends and family there and would recommend their food to anyone! We love Golden Jade! Oh, and I recommend the curry eggplant with deep fried eggplant, but honestly, it is all good.
Cheap food, friendly service

My boyfriend and I opted for this place a little while ago and were pleasantly surprised. The lady (owner?)who has served us the several times we've been in is very friendly and attentive. You'll never run out of water and the wait for food is short for a sit-down establishment. The tea isn't good loose leaf or anything, but it's complementary. Lunch portions are good sized, and we've always taken home leftovers from dinner. The food itself isn't spectacular by any stretch, but it is fresh and good. Vegetarians have a surprising variety of options, although a couple (my apologies for not remembering which) are suspiciously similar in flavor. I love the spring rolls and my boyfriend has been pleased with the meat dishes he has ordered. And you can't beat the price: $4.50 lunch specials and $6.50 dinners!
Pros: cheap food, good service, quiet atmosphere
Cons: mediocre food, street parking
I LOVE this place!
by mobacory
I have eaten here for many, many years and I love it dearly. I have NEVER received the wrong order and for Chinese food I feel it's moderately and fairly priced. They use great ingredients, better than most and generous portions. Whether your dining in or taking out, this place is fun, fast and tasty! I've turned it on everybody I know and they all agree with me that Golden Jade is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in PDX. I recommend their crab meat ragoon, Sweet & Hot soup and Veggie potstickers.
- Pros: Good food, good service, fairly priced, fun decor inside
- Cons: Parking-on street, it's sometimes too cold or too hot inside.
Greasy American-Chinese Food
by belmontlover
Prices are great, but the food was very greasy and not authenic chinese at all - very americanized. I wouldn't eat here again.
- Pros: cheap food
- Cons: greasy, oily food
Vegetarians beware!

I used to eat at Golden Jade quite often because it was conveniently located, fair prices, and a variety of dishes on their menu. That all stopped when they kept giving me different dishes then what I ordered. The final straw happened when one night when I purchased a vegetarian curry tofu dish and was instead given chicken. Anyone who has food allergies, kosher, vegetarian, or is on a special diet can not rely on this restaurant to serve you the food you think you will receive from the information they promise. How can you enjoy a meal when you cant trust the restaurant?
- Pros: located on Belmont, Fair prices
- Cons: Meat in Veg Dishes, Problems with orders

Their phone has been disconnected and it was closed last time I went by. Really a shame if this is the case.
- Pros: Family run, Tasty, Inexpensive
Golden Jade Rocks!
by brianbooty
The Golden Jade makes great chinese food! There is quick seating and not much wait for food for dining in or food to go. Food to go includes sauces and fortune cookies. There are dishes from $6.50 to $14.00 for dinner and for lunch the dishes are priced $4.50 to$5.00. If you like seafood you should definately try crab meat rangoons and the shrimp with green beans. There is also a good selection of vegetarian options including 17 different lunch combinations.
- Pros: fast friendly service, nice ambiance
'Scuse me. Got to go to the ATM.
by ToddVania
Lots of Chinese places nowadays seem to be plauged by excessive pricing, and this place is a good example. The food is fantastic, as well as the service--but there's no need in my eyes to have to spend close to $13.00 for a lunch. And the dinner prices are even higher. But this isn't the worst part--there is absolutely no parking, except for on the busy side streets around this place. I drove around the block about 5 times before finally finding a spot. Neat fish tank inside. I'll come back only if I'm hungry for Chinese while on Belmont street--But I might drive the extra miles to somewhere more reasonable.
- Pros: Great food, Spacious dining area, Neat fish tanks
- Cons: No parking lot, Quite expensive
