Waiter worked for his tip UNTIL I complained - NEVER GO THERE

My husband and I went here (second choice, Cup & Saucer was packed and we couldn't wait) on a Saturday morning.  Emo tatooed busboy 'greeted' us without a smile or hello, only "Two?" and a roll of the eyes.  Before we sat down, the emo poured us water and the waiter came, and one of them asked if we wanted coffee (not lattes, house coffee from a Sheri's-style caraffe).  We said yes, thinking that it was free or around $1.  The coffee was absolutely terrible, and the food was mediocre, bordering on tasteless save for the spice in my husband's Huevos Racheros.  I had pancakes which weren't that great, and they serve about 2 Tablespoons of syrup for 3 large pancakes, and charge $1.50 for extra, but whatever.  Anyway, we got the bill before we were even halfway done eating, and there was a mysterious charge for "II C - $5".  I asked the waiter what that was, and he said it was for our two coffees.  I was incredulous.  I said, "Can I make a couple suggestions?  First, you should put your house coffee on the menu so people know that you're charging $2.50 per cup, when you offer it as if it's complimentary" and he interrupted me and said with an attitude, "It is on the menu", but he didn't even let us sit down before he asked us if we wanted coffee, so what does he expect?? Then I said, "And secondly, you should at least get decent coffee if you're going to charge $2.50 per cup." and instead of saying, "I'll let the manager know" or something like that, he actually nodded curtly and walked away without even saying anything, no "excuse me" or anything at all.  I was livid, of course, but let my husband talk me into leaving him a $1 tip, which I regret doing, although I did write a stern note on the back of the receipt and I really should complain to the manager.  On the way out, another waiter almost ran right into me and didn't even say "excuse me" or "sorry" or anything.  Also, they charge $2.50 for nasty house coffee when there is an espresso machine behind the bar. Huh?

Pros: truly none - waste of time and money

Cons: Service, service, coffee, service, service
