Always a fan of this neighborhood gem.
by smizz
I have been to Squeez multiple times and have always enjoyed my experience. It's cool to have choose cocktails that are made with fresh fruit, right before your eyes. Also, the atmosphere is nice. There are two separate rooms for entertainment. One where you can listen to djs spinning and shoot pool and another where you there is ample table space for eating and drinking with friends. Highly recommended for anybody who hasn't been.
- Pros: Cocktails made from fresh drinks, Pool, and djs
One star is one too many
by ptownjay
Horrible, horrible service. Went on a Friday night, place was half crowded. Ordered drinks and appetizer. Was told 10 to 15 minutes for food order. An hour later, food still hadn't arrived. Asked bartender, received generic "it's on its way." When I asked how long, received a terse "I don't know." Service was abysmal and disappointing since the prior reviews seemed to shine a good light on this place.
- Cons: Service, drink quality, location (in relation to parking)
Good Drinks
by nino001
My wife and I dropped in here for a quick drink the other night as nearby Crush was packed. Was pretty happy with the atomsphere - definitely fun - and the drinks were well priced and quite tasty. I wouldn't necessarily drive to this bar as a destination, but if in the neighborhood again would definitely think about stopping in again.
Great DJ

Sqeez should be visited by people who like live, downtempo chill-out music on a Saturday nite. The tracks are mixed effortlessly and the music varies, for those of you who refuse to be pigeonholed into a certain genre when listening to a dj - this Saturday spot is for you.
Great dj!

Awesome neighborhood bar with a great IPA!
by scher19
I love their IPA and it's a great neighborhood bar.
On Friday and Saturday they have free pool which is a + and a few outside tables.
I like that the room with the bar in it is non-smoking and the other rooms are smoking.
There is a good little lounge room that is loaded with Danielle Steele'ish novels and a great little lounging room.
This is a good bar to entertain out of town guests in if you get there earlier in the evening and want to chat.
It can either be totally dead on any night or packed...no idea why it flows. I guess people from the stuffy bar around the corner realise they're overpaying and flood to Squeez sometimes?!
The only thing that I don't like about the bar is the dufus djs who start setting up and are usually my cue to drink a lot more or leave.
The staff there is generally extremely nice and helpful.
Thihs is a great bar to meet people if it's not crowded...my wife and I met our first friends in Portland there as well.
Fresh-squeezed juice cocktails in a campy Belmont neighborhood hangout.

In Short
Squeez's Afro-Caribbean bar is set with faux coconut palms, corrugated steel and an aquarium to match the vaguely tropical cocktails. Southeast's young hipster crowd tuck into booths in the dim front room, while pool hounds assemble in the adjacent room. Bartenders make stiff cocktails with silly names and chat with regulars while the jukebox pumps out a venerable mix of oldies like Black Sabbath, mixed with current alternative rock.
The life seems to be squeezed out of it

For a place touted as "Tropical" and "A Hipster Hangout", the Squeez bar falls far below expectations when approached from an objective stance.
Bartenders with less knowledge of drinks than budding high school seniors and an atmosphere reminiscent of your local halloween haunted house only work to affirm this perspective.
The drinks are palatable, but lack a sufficient amount of quality liqour to be called "cocktails." The crowd, albeit on a Friday night (gasp), consisted of two gay men and an implanted woman, with several lifeless corner dwellers.
Overall I would not recommend this location, unless you are already at a state of enebriation sufficient to make up for its shortcomings.
- Pros: Bicycle in the center
- Cons: , Atmosphere
weird

Great drinks! However, this is the place where you might unexpectedly find your manager drinking alone on a school night. Aside from that the jukebox is great if you like johnny cash or pj harvey. And the decor is like someone turned a ship upsidedown. Be careful if you smoke, others will want to "bum" cigarettes from you.
- Pros: great drinks, real live fish, jukebox
- Cons: freeloading smokers, incognito managers
Among Portland's Best Corner Spots
by MauiGirl25
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to begin or end a Friday or Saturday night. The staff is friendly, the drinks are GREAT! and the food is pretty darn good for the price. It's a little smaller than some bars maybe but that makes it perfect for getting together with friends and chatting without having to shout over loud music. But it always comes down to the drinks. I haven't tried one yet that I haven't liked..it's too easy to lose track of how many you have!
- Pros: Drinks, Value, Never too crowded
very worthwhile
