it should be a crime....
by Siobhan Fahey at Citysearch
My husband and I have been eating at Dingo's for about 4 years. We live in Wilsonville and have always made the 15 or so mile drive to eat there because of the salsa and the great food and prices.
We were there very recently and were sooo disappointed! They started charging for chips and salsa!!! $2.50 - which is a crime! No mexican restaurant should charge for chips and salsa. When we ordered extra salsa, $2 more additional dollars were added to our bill, making it $4.50 for chips and salsa. Also, the menu now listed every single item separately, which means you pay way more for your food.
We will no longer be making the drive. We will eat somewhere else where you don't have to pay $5 for chips and salsa. The food is good - but it isn't worth the huge price hike.
Dingo's.....give your customers complimentry chips and salsa!! Raise your prices if you must, but don't be like this! We will miss eating here.
- Pros: The best salsa around
- Cons: Charging for chips and salsa, no combinations
Dissappointing.

The atmosphere is lacking, the food is mediocre, the service was poor. I really wanted to like this place, since it's very close to home, but I probably wont return for food. The cocktail menu has some good choices however, and I was happy with the drinks I tried. If you want mexican on hawthorne, stick with cha, cha, cha. If you're east of 39th, and want a unique cocktail, you might want to check this place out at least once.
Where's the beef?

I went to Dingo's upon reading about their margs (good) and decided to take a to go meal. I asked the waitress if the fajitas were enough for 2, she said "yes." I ordered it and waited 30 min. (it was packed). When I got home the fajitas (enough for 2) was more like barely 2 corn tacos worth. Maybe I should have been more specific about what 2 meant. More peppers than beef, which was chewy. The chips and guacamole were good though.
- Pros: margs, chips, guacamole
- Cons: meat, meat, meat
Dinner without margaritas?!
by whitney0312 at Citysearch
We went here Saturday night around 9:30. We promptly ordered our drinks and entrees and received our margaritas in a timely manner. The food didn't arrive until after 10pm and when we asked for another round of margaritas the server said they were closed and couldn't serve any! Their website clearly states that Thurs-Saturday they are open until midnight (and even have a happy hour from 10pm-12am)! We weren't ever offered another round before they "closed" or even warned/informed that there was only 1/2 hour of service remaining! Very poor service, no apology and we were not even offered a nonalcoholic beverage substitute! Seriously, what's mexican food without tequila or a beer?! We would have left if we weren't starved. I have never written a negative review before but since I found this place on this website I felt obligated to warn future patrons. I will never go back.
- Pros: good menu options, good margaritas-, (if you can get one)
- Cons: poor service, incorrect hours open
too cool to be any good
by citytoad at Citysearch
The Portland Urban Legend of infernally crappy wait service was kept alive and well by our too-cool-to-be-bothered-by-a-mere-customer waitress. Blech!
Food was so-so, drinks were inconsistent, the bill still way too high for the experience.
If only Ole Ole would get a full liquor license, we'd all be spared the reverse class wars of trendy restaurants like Dingo's.
- Pros: cool decor
- Cons: bad service, so-so food, bad service
