OK I admit I am a regular here at he the Spaceroom and I am not afraid to admit it...is it fancy...No...is it a place where I can go and relax and not wait in line or deal with a bunch of pretentious people..YES...the first thing is the Staff who by the way have been there a long time and actually care about you and give good service and the drinks are good and worth the price you pay which in fact are very reasonable..great happy hour prices. Now on to the food Thank you to the new owners who took the ball and made a hail Mary pass and finally made food available past 8pm..the food is good food and also a very reasonable price..The French Dip is a meal in its self..

Bottom line is Hawthorne is lined with places to hang out..eat..drink..etc..Spaceroom is a place where you can bring your family to eat in the diner...hang out and have a few drinks with some friends or if your are out to just hang out at the bar and meet some rally nice people..Spaceroom is the place.

Fun atmosphere, a notch above!. I went to the grand re-opening of the Space Room Lounge and had a blast (No pun intended)! The new decorations are sensational and the food was delicious! The server was exceptionally attentive for how packed it was that night. A+ I'll be going back for sure!

Check out the the design. I went to the grand re-opening last weekend to check out the new place and was impressed. The new decor is definitely spacey. Had a great time!

End here, don't start here. Old, smokey bar with ok service. Out of Guiness when we went (seriously?). Not many people there when we arrived, but the service was still on the slow side. Cheap drinks. A place to go after the more fun bars if you want to continue to get wasted.

Good place to get WAISTED!. If you want a stiff drink and a wicked long island iced tea, go to the space room. Just make sure to catch a cab home if you plan on staying for a while!

If only there were fewer Hipsters. Bars like this are the reason I left Portland. So many stuck-up wannabe hipsters. This place is full of them. But if you want to get a cheap buzz, then visit them during happy hour and then leave and walk across the street to BOG to grab a tasty bite to eat.

Step forward--or backward--in time to a wacky, retro bar with a sci-fi theme.. In Short
It's like walking into anepisode of "The Jetsons" or "Star Trek," with decor from 1950s visions of the Space Age. Lucky for Portlanders, it was never updated. A host of silly space scenes smother the walls, and even the light fixtures are dressed up as flying saucers. It's a timeless classic of kitsch and an eternal favorite of hipsters. Regulars ranging from 20- to 30-somethings get looped on rocket fuel-like cocktails: The bloody marys and AMFs are legendary.

Too smokey but GOOD late night sandwiches.... Pretty smokey, which bothers me. But their sandwiches are very good in the later hours! (Ive ordered the Roast beef several times...)

It used to be a lot better than it is now. I think the owners finally realized it was a hipster bar and then they tried to MAKE it a hipster bar. The old waitstaff was cool, very good with customers but this new crew ain't so hot. It's infuriating to wait for a drink... and wait and wait... The old sign outside is gone, and the new one is really tacky. Too bad. Still, they do pour a good drink and the lights are still low and it's still a good addition to the neighborhood!!!

GET OVER YOURSELF. New to the PDX area, this place came highly recommended by several coworkers, as well as several friends. Went there on a random Wed. While the atmosphere, the crowd, and the music were excellent. The bartenders were excellent on the pours and the drinks were my two favorite things Cheap, stiff. HOWEVER, the service SUCKED. I understand layed back, but 10 min with no greet from the server, with heavy sighing and reluctant steps. The bartenders are not that pretty, so they should have a better attitude to make money. No wonder they would complain about their tips. GET OVER YOURSELF AND MAKE MONEY.
