We tried to go there for my bday on 5/21/09 - and it's completely closed up. There was a guy there from a competitor in Vancouver handing out biz cards and maps...kind of tacky, I thought!

We are now on a mission to find out if it's just this location or all of them. According to their website, they're all open - including this one, so obviously not a reliable resource!

HORRIABLE SERVICE! RUDE STAFF, RUDE MANAGEMENT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

THIS RESTAURANT IS THE VERY APITIMY OF BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! IF YOU DON?T BELIEVE IT READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. And yes the make a big deal about high chairs as well. THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE THERE IS THE RUDEST PERSON, I HAVE EVER TALKED TO ON THE PHONE. SHE DOESN?T EVEN KNOW HOW TO TALK ON THE PHONE. SHE IS BLUNT, AND SHORT WITH HER WORDS.I CALLED TO MAKE A RESERVATION DURING WHICH SHE WAS NOT FRIEDNLY, CORTEOUS, OR HELPFUL. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER MANAGER SHE TOLD ME HE WAS BUSY, ASKED ME FOR MY NUMBER, AND THEN TOLD ME TO CALL BACK IN 5 MINUTES. I CALLED BACK. SHE SAY'S, ? HE?S RIGHT HERE, HOLD!? SHE CAME BACK ON THE PHONE AN SAID, ?ACTUALLY HE?S BUSY?. I ASKED IF I COULD LEAVE MY NUMBER, AND IF HE COULD CALL ME BACK. SHE CUT ME OFF, AS I TRIED TO GIVE HER MY NUMBER SHE SNAPPED AT ME AND said , ?I ALREADY HAVE YOUR NUMBER??! THE MANAGER FOR THE RESTAURANT NEVER CALLED ME BACK, AND IM STILL WAITING. WE ENDED UP KEEPING OUR RESERVATION. WE HAD A 9:15 RESERVATION, BUT WHEN I SHOWED UP OUR TABLE WAS NOT READY. HER COMMENT TO ME WAS, ?I DIDN?T THINK YOU GUYS WOULD COME?. THERE WERE 15 OF US! SHE REFUSED TO PUT OUR TABLES TOGETHER, SO WE PUT THEM TOGETHER OURSELVES. AGAIN SHE WAS VERY RUDE. THE ONLY REASON WE ENDED UP GOING TO CHANGS WAS BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS ANY WHERE ELSE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MANDARINE COVE, FOR THE SAME PRICE YOU GET A GREAT ATMOSPHERE, GOOD SERVICE, AND GOOD FOOD. THE MANAGER FOR THE CHANGS RESTAURANT SHOULD BE FIRED, ALONG WITH THE FRONT STAFF! WE ALL (15 of us) WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!

Horrible experience, will never go again, beware if you have babies!!!!

We have always loved going to Changs but today we went for lunch and it was HORRIBLE! We showed up an hour before closing and the back section was closed. I asked for a booth, they said they couldn't put a high chair up to a booth because of the fire marshall. However we go to this Changs (usually for dinner) at least once a week and sometimes twice and we generally sit at one table a booth with a high chair. I asked to speak to the manager and got the run around, finally he came up and said they NEVER let us sit at a booth with a high chair. Essentially calling me a liar, I said ask our 4 yo where we sit everytime, and he turned around and walked away. I have always been treated so well here, I can't understand it. The only difference today, was that our neice who is biracial was with us. I totally don't get it but I won't be there again to be treated this way. I have been to the one on 122nd and it was good so I guess we will go there. I also intend to talk to the corporate office if it turns out that is an option.

• Cons: Horrible service and NOT child friendly

I have been going to Chang's for years and years. We have always loved the food and had basically good service at many of their locations. However, tonight, they tried to charge me for my eight month old baby because we gave him some rice and a couple sips of soup!!! If we had made him a plate I would completly understand being charged! But come on!!!!

Chang's on 122nd

Chang's Mongolian Grill, whatever location you go to, is a best bang for the buck place to eat. We like the one on 122nd because it's a clean facility and the guys working the hot mongolian grill are so entertaining. But think "all you can eat of what you like to eat, spiced just the way you like it, hot and ready in 5 minutes and under $10" and you've got the idea. Fish, pork, chicken, beef, noodles, lots of vegetables, pineapple, cilantro and sesame seeds, whatever you want, stir fried to perfection while you watch.

• Pros: fast, all you can eat, great food, inexpensive
• Cons: crowded, close early, no take out

we had a wonderful dinner there . it is a great place to eat for people like me who love vegtables and thin meat,i am very picky and my food is always right here.

Do it yourself done right!

Selecting from a wide array of vegetables, meats and seasoning sauces you can create incredible combinations that, once handed off to the master grill chef, will become one of a kind wonders. For novices there is a seasoning guide so that you dont create something too hot to eat.

The Jantzen Beach Changs is the best of all I have tried in the Portland area. The lunch is certainly more affordable than dinner, however greater selection of ingredients is available for dinner.

Come early for best seating.
