decent pizza
by puddlestomper
uhhh, this definately isn't the worst pizza ever. I have had better, but this stuff is pretty tasty. They are very quick to deliver, and they make a really good garlic chicken with white sauce pie. For sure better than pizza hut.
Pizza I wanted to love, but can't
by lcmomtobe
I love supporting local businesses and am always up for pizza so i was excited to try Rocket Pizza after a flyer was placed on our front porch this morning.
The crust was good. The pepperoni was yummy, but I didn't care for the ground beef and there was something weird about the cheese, I don't know if it had been left out for a long time or what, but it wasn't good. It was disappointing and with the delivery charge it added up to be 31 (plus tip, delivery guy was super nice so I let him keep the $4) for a large pizza and caesar salad (which was actually SORT of good). Now I know that's not the MOST expensive, but it's a decent amount and I expected to enjoy myself.
The bottom line here is that cheese, for me, on a pizza is the third important ingredient (after sauce and crust) and it ruined it for me. Sad and yuck. :(
- Pros: Very friendly guy on the phone
- Cons: Delivery charge, funky cheese, surcharge for credit card
Killer little neighborhood pizza joint!
by cinnamongirl68
This rivals my favorite pizza. The old Old Town Pizza has always been my fav. This pizza has a cracker crust so if you're into deep dish, this may not be for you. The sauce is perfect, not sweet and not bitter either. The toppings are really good. Huge slices of crispy pepperoni. Not too spicy. This place is tiny. Just one 4 seat table so it's not exactly eat-in. The people are fantastic and Bob still makes his own dough, secret recipe style. Phone in and pick up is the way to go. So tasty. Definitely a new fav.
- Pros: Fabulous pizza, great people.
- Cons: Not eat-in.
Gross Pizza, worst in Portland.

If you like mean people making you gross pizza then this is the place for you. Their pizza almost makes me want to give up pizza for good.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Gross pizza
Number 1 pizza joint:
by TheBeardedOne
I consider myself to be quite the pizza aficionado, as not only do I eat it often, but also from many different places, because I always like to try new things. Bob's, or as it's now known as Rocket, pizza is the hands down best I've ever had. I grew up not more than ten blocks away from Bob's, went to school at Meek Elementary, only a couple of blocks away, and I don't think I had Bob's more than a handful of times until I was in my early twenties (my family was always the Pizza Hut type). I've had all kinds of pizza from the foo-foo gourmet crapola of Pizzacato to the ever-generic Pizza Hut and Dominos. My top three pizza places are all Ma-&-Pa type of shops, like Bob's. Not only does this place offer you almost any kind of pizza or topping you can imagine under the sun, but they do it with the most friendly and inviting attitudes you could ask for. I was never even close to a fan of thin crust until I had Bob's, now that's a testimonial. Their sizes are tailored to fit any desire or level of hunger, their ingredients are always of the utmost freshness, and the only way you're going to have a bad pizza, is if you screw up and order a horrible combination of toppings - period!
Super fast, friendly, delicious, and more than fairly priced!

I was having the worst day today. It was drizzly, I had worked hard, for nothing, and was just super depressed about the whole day. I was looking through information that my aunt left at her place, and there was a flyer for Rocket Pizza. Well, the prices were more than fair, and I had a hard time choosing between all the choices!
Wait, 2 liter of Pepsi for a dollar, WOW.... No delivery fee.. WOW (both were for orders over $15 dollars)... I had to give this place a try. I called the number, got a friendly voice, and ordered the pizza the way I wanted, no hassle there, and they gave me an estimate of 25-30 minutes, and even repeated my order to me to make sure it was correct, kudos for that, since there is nothing worse than a misordered pizza.
So I sat down to watch the beginning of a movie, and before I knew it (or even really expected it) comes the knock. The delivery guy was friendly AND early, BONUS! Oh and they gave me a magnet so I wouldn't lose their number... Honestly, I'd drive to get this pizza (I live in Vancouver).
The Pizza is Amazing! A thin crust, with great cheese, and fresh tasty veggies! The Medium was larger than I would have expected from a local joint, and such a great price! To top off this great pizza, I got some cinnamon sticks, which aren't greasy, and light and tasty! To make things even better the icing they come with is really tasty, maybe even a touch cream cheesy.
I am thrilled with all of the aspects of this restaurant, and I think that I could have easily ordered the small (since I've got SOOO much left... I can't wait to have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner tomorrow!) I did drop my 2 Liter but I can tell you it was cold when the guy handed it to me.
Rocket Pizza has my vote for best pizza in NE Portland! I want to go visit the restaurant and see about eating in some time, though with that free delivery, I hardly need to!
- Pros: Good food, Great service, Speedy Delivery, Great Menu, So Great!
- Cons: Haven't found one!
Pretty Good Pizza
by 3ballinureye
Well, I have to say that I decided to check this pizza out after reading the review that said its like the worst ever....i think that guy mighta been high on pcp or somethin...or maybe just a local competitor, like a delivery kid from the neighborhood Dominoe's The pizza is really good...a little more expensive than average , but really good toppings (i had pepperoni/ sausage & onion/artichokes/olives), crust, sauce, cheese...everthing seemed pretty good to me....i also don't know how the crust could have been undercooked...its really thin...if it was undrercooked it would probaly just flop over...who knows, maybe that guy got them at a bad time or he has strange tastebuds...everyone i shared some with absolutely loved it... i will take this place over the local pizzacato or hot lips pizza anyday
- Pros: sauce & toppings, quick delivery
- Cons: maybe crust could be slightly thicker (to make it more filling)
were you guys high?

I had Bob's deliver after reading the amazing reviews, and I've got to say, disapointment is too light a word. Now, I don't claim to be an expert or nothing, but I swear this is by far the worst pizza I've ever had! Even though they gave me a free two liters of pop I still felt like I'd been ripped off. Granted, it's true, it was piled high with toppings, but I'm sorry, if I can't taste the difference between an artichoke heart and a mushroom, something must be wrong. The crust was grossly undercooked as was the mountain of toppings, the cheese was almost non-existent, the sauce tasted like government surplus, and yet they recieved reviews like "maybe the best pizza on the west coast"? I can name hundreds of pizza places that are better, they're all named Dominos! Not that I suggest you buy thier pizza either, but hey, thier cardboard is better than what "Bob's Rocket Pizza" tries to pass off. The worst part? The fact that even still I have to give them at least one star!
- Pros: free soda for first-time delivery
- Cons: free soda couldn't wash away the taste of the pizza
What a gem!
by carmensmom
I never, NEVER, ordered pizza delivered because I don't like the regular pizza chains. They're horrible. But after reading reviews here, I decided to give Bob's a try. I couldn't wait to write this one. The nicest phone service, and the person I talked to said it'd be 30 to 40 minutes. It was here in 20. Delicious. Loaded with veggies. I had the vegetarian. My daughter who will not pizza in restaurants (she's strange) loved it, and had 3 slices. THANKS everyone for sharing such a gem. It's in my speed dial now.
One of the best

Good ol Bob's has been around for years, but with new ownership things have changed. One thing is the toppings, much better now I must say. But with that the price has also increased. Close to $20 for a large pie. I can't complain about anything but the coupon. Coupon is $2 off, but most of the combo pizza's are 19.50. One of the best pizza's on the east side.
- Pros: good pizza
- Cons: bad coupon
