Mike's Drive in is a throw back to the old fashion burger joints. The food is great! The Milwaukie location is the original and I've been going there since I was a kid. Quality has always been great! The shakes are great too!

a really fun experience

We went to Mike's in Oregon City, I understand they have 3 locations. The staff was friendly, the menu and atmosphere was like the 60's, there was lots of choices on the menu, they had real milkshakes and if you order a strawberry milkshake for example, they make it with fresh strawberries. The food was fresh,it was served hot and it was good and we had polite young adults (teenagers) with smiles serving us. Very neat place, our kids enjoyed it too.

Thanks Mike or whom ever it is that owns this place.. you are doing a great Job with your food, service and your staff !

In Mike's Drive In's defense - I worked there for a little over a year. They are slow because the food is not cooked until the order is placed. Don't know about anybody else, but that's a good thing. I don't want food that was sitting on the warmer just waiting to get sold.

I love that they use Tillamook cheese!!

With most people - after they have worked at a food establishment for so long they NEVER want to eat their food again. Not the case with me! I keep going back. YUMMY stuff! Just ask the local radio stations! :)

• Cons: Seating in Milwaukie isn't so great.

Great Milkshakes

After the milkshakes it's all down hill. Food seems to be thrown together without presentation. If you don't have coupon it's pricey and with a coupon it can be $20.00 for two. It seems the place has gone down hill in the past 20 years.

Best Burgers in the State

Yes the price can be alittle much. But they have some custom burgers there that is just mouth watering. Everytime i come home to Oregon it is one my must eat places. Along with Super Burrito express. and Cafe du Berry. The Shakes are famous there and they are made with natural fruit. How do i know this? My grandparents used to sell all there raseberrys and blackberrys to mikes. Anyway i would rate this place as excellent. If you want your food quicker order over the phone and pick ur food up. I would suggest mostly take out the restruant is not much for sitting down there are picknic benches outside but its just not a sit down place.

• Pros: Great Food Hamburgers and Shakes are a must
• Cons: Pricey, dining area is run down and slow service.

Kinda Maybe Sorta

The one thing I've noticed is that some of the employees are a bit surly and bitter, but the shakes are famous and the food is good. The one downside is that it is VERY pricy, so unless you come across those coupons they send out, you're in for an $8 meal for a regular burger, fries, and a coke. It also tends to be a long wait, so unless you've got time to spend, I wouldn't expect "fast" food. I waited for close to 20 minutes once for a simple burger and fries with only 2 people ahead of me.

But if you're looking for good food that you're willing to shell out some dough for, this a great place to go.

• Cons: slow service, expensive
