One of my daughters good friends attends this preschool and both she and her parents love the interaction this type of preschool provides between parents, students and teacher. It is a very cooperative feeling, and the parents are very motivated to help keep costs down and be very involved in the goings-on at this school.

There is a certified teacher in charge, but parents help out in most other aspects. My daughter's friend has thrived in this environment and her little brother will be attending also as soon as he is old enough.

PROS: Cooperative learning between parents, teacher and children

CONS: Significant time involvement required, so not for every family

Excellent cooperative preschool!

Tigard Playschool can boast that they have been in the same location for 51 years. The staff and volunteers are dedicated to the families that attend the school. Because of the cooperative nature of the school, families become very involved with each other and have an opportunity to learn a lot about their child, themselves and parenting strategies. This is our third year at TPI and we look forward to our youngest child being able to participate next year.

Developmentally Sound/Great elementary prep

Outstanding school with wide range of activities. Addresses social/emotional as well as academic needs of children. Nearing it's 50th year anniversary, the best part is the quality and warmth of the teachers. Children enter the classrooms and don't want to leave. The possibilities for learning are endless. It's also competitive tuition-wise and has so much more to offer than others we explored. We recommend it whole-heartedly!

great classes, variety of times to choose from

can't say enough good things about the school, a 'must see' if you're looking for a preschool. many other preschools have little tykes toys and fisher-price. not here, kids are exposed to all sorts of new toys, art projects, etc.

Tigard Playschool - Wow!

My son Cameron is returning for his 3rd year at Tigard Playschool and we couldn't be more pleased. Everyday I am asked if it's a school day or not. The teachers are wonderful. They are incredibly creative! And the kids always come first, which is the way it should be. But the parents get to have fun too! I highly recommend anyone considering the school. You won't regret it.

The Best Preschool in Town!

My oldest daughter just completed her second year at Tigard Playschool. She is totally prepared for kindergarten and has an amazing amount of self-confidence and respect for others. The focus on learning through play and social and emotional growth is exactly what preschool age children need. The teachers are absolutely fantastic! They are caring, dedicated and superbly qualified. The cooperative school environment is great for kids as well as parents. I've made as many friends through the school as my daughter did. My youngest daughter will start the program this fall and we can't wait!

Tigard Preschool Rocks!

My son (now 4) enjoyed his first year at what has been, in my opinion, the best preschools around town. Great teaching staff, involved parents (cooperative preschool) and a wonderful learning enviroment. Can't wait for the new school year to begin
