Perhaps it was a busy night, but our service was terrlble. The waiter actually was upset when two of us place a drink order while he delivered a friend's beverage at the other end of the table. He said "You should have said something when I was here before" under his breath. Guess what? He never asked. My salad was great, but my friend was served two burned piece of pork. The waiter didn't even flinch, but presented the plate like that is how it was supposed to be done. When it was returned to the kitchen, he made no offer of how to remedy the situation other than to take it off the bill. Manager please! I hear the beer was good, but if I am going to deal with lousy service, at least get me a strong cocktail.

Pros: Salad, Fondue

Cons: Service, Pork, Food Value

We've been to this restaurant at least 5 times, and the service is consisently mediocre. While the food and beer are good, the service sunk to an all time low and ruined our experience. Our waiter was rude and we were surprised by how surly he was with his condescending remarks made several times over dinner. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Pros: good beer, non-smoking

Cons: poor service / wait staff

If you don't love the Hef, something is wrong with you. The beer here is wonderful, and there is nothing better than getting it straight from the tap at the brewery. So many choices. Get the sampler if you are not sure what to get. The food is iffy and lacking flavor. Soups are good and creative. Pretzels are always fun.

Pros: The beer

Cons: Food could be a bit better, more creative, but hey

Oh man, such good food, such good beer, such a great value. Try the fondue pretzle and anything with that spatzle stuff. The beer, well, everyone knows that's good!

Pros: The food, beer and prices

Cons: the weird location

I ate here for the first time the other night and really enjoyed it- everyone's food was excellent (I would recommend the sausage fondue appetizer- super yum!), and my pasta was so big there was plenty to take home. I agree with other people's comments regarding the waitstaff; some of them were a bit on the surly side. But hey, just order another beer, on your own at the bar if needed, and it'll be fine. Still worth it.

Went for the first time for their Octoberfest and really enjoyed the music, beer and food. Hard to judge their food based on a densely populared beer fest but from what we tried (preztels and sausages) it was pretty good. I had not had their beer in years and was very pleasantly surprised with their Drop Topamber and Octo beers. So impressed I think I had 5 of them each. Met the manager of the place who was a very cool guy, staff in general was very friendly. Great place and will definitely make it a regular spot.

Pros: beer

We've been here a few times and Widmer Gasthaus consistently delivers. They have a varied menu from pretzels (with or without a cheese sauce dip) to burgers, sausage samplers and schnitzel (pork or chicken). They also make wonderful mashed potatoes in-house as well.

Pros: great food; wonderful beer; reasonable prices; some happy hours

Cons: limited seating inside and out; although there is a parking lot, it is small

Widmer does not produce a regular release beer worth purchasing, in my opinion. The seasonals are good, but thats about it. But, that is what is so great about the Gasthaus, there are many beers available and they are much better than anything they put in the bottle. The food is very good, whether you have the sausage, saurbraten, schnitzel, etc. there is no wrong choice. The service is also very good. I love going there and will continue to do so. Just please don't waste your time/money on Hefeweizen and Drop Top.

Pros: beer, food, service

Cons: can get busy

After a really long hard day we tried this restaurant for the first time and it was everything I'd been looking for since moving to Oregon in the way of authentic German food. The food was fantastic, the waitress was extremely attentive, and it was comfortable enough to relax and feel like I got a lot for the total bill. The parking was easier than expected and I would definitely recommend this to those looking for this type of food.

Pros: inexpensive, good parking, good seating

We have found a true jewel of gastronomic pleasures! In addition to sampling some of the great beers, we were blown away by the excellent food...to say nothing of the great service. The atmosphere is brew-pub--very enjoyable and made more so by the attentive service. Great value for your $$$. The excellence of the BEER CHEESE SOUP should be enjoyed by all. A great place to enjoy a meal with friends!!!!

Pros: Smiling Service, Easy Parking, Unique Menu
