German Formula was recommended to me by a German friend who is also a mechanic (although he works on motorcycles). I have visited German Formula three times and each time they are very friendly to me and explain all the charges throughly BEFORE they perform the maintenance. I especially appreciate this because I am a woman and many garages in the past have tried to talk down to me or, worse, don't even bother to explain processes. I am also a student, so I am on a budget. I explained this and they did the necessary work, but made recommendations for work I would need soon - they didn't pressure me or lie to me to try and get me to spend the money NOW. I highly recommend this garage to anyone looking for straight-talk and honest work.

i have my bmw in last week for a checkup and get it past the deq.. needless to say they overcharge on a simple diagnostic.. watch out...

I went on line and found German Formula and its excellent reviews and that is why I came to the shop today. The mechanic who worked on my car is nice to talk to and does know what he is talking about. He can go into detail and explain things if needed. I was there the whole time while they perform the work. <br> Everything went well except the part where they charge you. A job that take actual 2 and half hour of on the job was charged at 4 and half hour. The hourly rates are reasonable but they charge the 'book hours', I guess its been a while I been to a independent auto shop. I always though you charge what your time is spend working on or associate with the job .... a warning... The explanation to me goes by some jobs are harder and some are easier and to even and 'fair', we charge whats on the book... I guess I was not lucky to be on that end of stick .. <br> I would add the everyone I talk to are very nice... I would give a much higher rating if I were not being over charged. I still believe in you pay what you get... If I consider paying the same... I would shop around for more.. So believe in what you read and research more. Overall service .. Above average Friendliness of the place ... Yes Reasonable charges.. No.. not for me Would I go back again.. hmm.....

I am new to Portland, but need my BMW brakes checked soon. I called the local dealer and found no openings until next week. I used City Search to find a well reccomened service repair, German Formula. Stefan got me in the same day. I got a call by 3pm, that my car was ready. My car drives great. Thanks, Guys.

My car is a volkswagen new beetle. Last weekend, it broke down in the middle of Barbur Blvd because the axle fell out from the car. I called the toweling company and had them come to get the car. I called German Formula. They were not supposed to be open on Saturday, but they took it in anyways. They also helped me get a really good deal on renting a car from The Dollar Rental. My car was fixed two days later. The price was very fair and reasonable and people were so friendly and nice. I've been to a lot of car repair places, but at German Formula, I had the most wonderful experience. I really appreciate their help, and they are very professional and honest.

I have been taking my car to this shop for the better part of 6 years and I have never once had anything less then extraordinary service from them. the management actually care about the customers and the mechanics are more then willing to explain any questions that may arise about your vehicle. They even give me a ride back home or to work when I needed to leave my car there for an extended period of time. There service and speed is beaten by no one and I highly recommend anyone to bring their car to German formula to experience the high level of customer service that is seldom seen in today’s mechanic shops

They have the jobs done fast and affordable. I have a 2000 land rover discovery and when i came to this place, they treated me with respect and was very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who want to get their vehicle fixed or serviced. A+++

This is a pretty good shop where I have had the pleasure of taking all of my BMW's for all of its service. I'm sure I've spent well over 10,000 in total over the years. Their quality of work is certainly sufficient. The mechanics will happily explain the service and any questions. The facility they occupy isn’t the best in the business but it is unquestionably adequate. However, I hear they plan to remodel shortly. If you want a place to take your vehicle where you don’t feel the overwhelming sense of a dealership, this is your place.

The people are very friendly, very good service, the price was much more reasonable than the Dealer.
