Best Score for Sushi
by Sherylbh at Citysearch
I've been eating at Ookii for over a year now. I wish I would have discovered it sooner. First I thought, "Why would I want to eat at a sushi bar next to ROSS"? I must say location isn't everything. I don't want to eat sushi anywhere else. I sit at the bar and have become friendly with the two chefs as well as the two servers. It's family runned and they make you feel like you're part of their family. I can't get enough of the "Hot Night" roll. There hasn't been a dish I haven't loved. I can't say enough, other than "Try it, you'll love it"!
The best place for sushi

By far, my favorite place for sushi. Everything is fresh and made to order, and the staff is very friendly. You have to order the Ring of Fire. It's not on the menu, but you won't be disappointed. I live about 20-30 minutes away, but it's always been worth the drive. Highly recommended.
- Pros: fresh fish, friendly staff, delicious
- Cons: small restaurant, it can get a little busy on Friday and Saturday nights

Me and my husband have come here many times and it's always good. They can even make the sushi with rice paper instead of seaweed, which I don't like. Very tasty

i have tried so many sushi/japanese restaurants and by far, this place is the BEST! its a small restaurant, with friendly staff, yet the best and delicious sushi. for all the family's birthday or any other occasion, we'd always choose this place. the parking lot isnt that bad as what other's say.

Best Sushi in Clackamas

We've been going to Ookii Sushi for over a year and love it. I love the raw fish and my husband loves the cooked rolls. The fish is fresh and the rolls are creative for both of us. Whenever we bring a friend, they are pleasantly surprised by the good food and service and immediately score it as a favorite place for sushi. If you love spicy tuna, try the Hot Night Roll. My other favorite is Ring of Fire, which is not shown on the menu.

I found this place through news from Fox Channel. They get 100 points for cleanliness so I gave it a try.
This place is like a diamond in the rough. I?ve been to some good japanese restarants, but ookii had some of the unique rolls I?ve ever had. Last night, I had the Valentine?s day special roll with the kiwi sauce. It was so beautiful and yummy. The staff is extremely friendly. I almost feel like family there since the know me by name. try the scallop volcano roll and bonito sashimi. You won?t be disapointed
- Pros: Really Good Food, Friendly waitstaff and Chefs
- Cons: Do I really have to make a con list?
My favorite sushi !!!

I should have posted a review sooner!! My husband and I have been here with our toddler 4 or 5 times and we have also ordered take-out from here many times. We have never been disappointed. The sushi is fresh, served with simple but beautiful presentation. The traditional Japanese entrees from the kitchen are flavorful. The restaurant is on the small side, but we have never had to wait long. The sushi rolls are a little different from the usual California roll and spicy tuna roll - not scary different, but a fun kind of different. Sashimi lovers can rejoice - any fish you can order as nigiri you can order ala carte as a sashimi plate of about 6 pieces for a VERY reasonable price. The fish is fresh, the perfect temperature and sliced beautifully. The waitresses are always smiling, friendly and they get to know you when they see you return. I hate to give away our favorite sushi restaurant, but you really must give this place a try!
- Pros: Not Noisy, Friendly staff, fresh sushi, family friendly
- Cons: shopping center parking lot can be difficult to navigate
Best Sushi!

The service is always great, and the food is always awesome. Waitress will remember your name, after just a couple of visits, Very friendly environment, clean, welcoming, kick-ass sushi.
- Pros: food/service
- Cons: parking; at times
Definitely a NO

We went to this restaurant twice - both times were terrible. First time we went for sushi - fish was not fresh and the rice was not even sticky together like the regular Japanese rice. Very poorly made. Second time was last night as I wanted to give it another chance for ramen soup. "Miso ramen with vegetable" (they don't have ramen with any meat on menu) - no miso taste at all. Not even a miso look in the soup. Vegetable was very sparse. Service was very slow considering there was nothing spectacular in the noodle. Never again.
- Pros: location
- Cons: food
I love this place.

I have never been moved to review an restaurant after eating there, but after my experience last night at Ookii, I have no choice.
Put simply, this is one of the most delicious Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. The food is delicate, creative, an experience like any other. This has my highest recommendation. An amazing restaurant hands down!
- Pros: inexpensive, fantastic food, good parking
