I have been eating at Imperial Gardens for over 20 years now and still find the food to be wonderful! I do miss the noodle demo though! We love the Sizzling Rice soup, Dong An Chicken, Sesame Beef and the Po Po platter (is that the name?). Oh yes and the Lemon chicken is delightful too! I am forgetting many more, but these are my favs!

Best Szechuan In Portland - I Kid You Not!

I've been going to Imperial Garden since I was five. I was told it was "decent" by my grandfather who had served in China during World War Two. Since then, I've tried to find its equal in the greater cities of North America. The food here is humble, fantastic, and reasonably priced. The staff is incredibly polite. The menu is friendly to all kinds, including vegetarians (try the General Tso's Eggplant!) Tea and water are never - NEVER - empty and though the nightly noodlemaking demonstrations are a thing of the past, the current and future look to be bright for this favorite Portland-area institution.

Well worth your time, especially for lunch.

Tasty Lunch at a Low Price

I haven't had a meal at this place in a long time. The food was really good. General Tso Chicken was one of my usual orders, but it all tastes good. Lunch is around $5.00 dollars and you get soup, rice, your main order and a spring roll. Like most chinese food restaurants, they give you hot tea, water and red sauce. This place is fairly small but big enough to hold large parties as well as plenty of smaller parties. For $5.00 dollars, it is a great alturnative to fast food.
