Heaven...

My parents went when they were in high school in the 50's, then they took me as a kid in the 70's, now I take my kids! We love the coney dogs and coney fries. Best foot long dogs on the planet! It's fun to go back to the time when life was simpler and nothing was better than sitting outside at a picnic table eating a hot dog. Think I'm gonna go now, my mouth is watering....

• Pros: Foot long hot dogs, greasy coney fries
• Cons: Not a lot of indoor seating, but great if it's nice outside.

This food is great. I get to go today. I am still waiting for them to have to-go menus. Very cool place

Just awesome!

True coney dogs and some of the most delicious greasiest fries you will ever have! Delicious shakes and a host of other greased up hot dog stand fare make any Roake's a great lunch stop. Not for the health nut type, but great old fashioned dogs and fries. Drop the oat bran, tofu and free range whatever, go to Roake's now and see what you have been missing!

• Pros: Best dogs in town, Excellent fries, old school atmosphere
• Cons: none downtown :(

family tradition

My dad used to take my mom to Roake's when they were courting during the Fifties, and they passed that tradition on to their children. It's junk food - hot dogs, hamburgers, fries served with the wonderfully mysterious meat sauce - but it's the best junk food in the world.
